A second cam has been added.

The Richmond nest territory was established in 1996 and the cam was installed in 2012. The cam began operating for the first time on January 15, 2012.

Eagle history: This pair built a nest along the James River 90 feet up in a loblolly pine in 1995. They abandoned the first nest and built the current nest in 2001. The nest has been used for 10 years and 18 chicks have successfully fledged. In 2011 2 eaglets fledged.

The eggs are usually laid in mid to late February. They hatch in late March.

The CAMs have day and night viewing, panning and zooming capabilities. There are two cams installed.

Hi Debs and Mary,

I was posting pictures of Fort St Vrain at RRP and noticed a report on a new nest. I visited the ustream site and thought it looked interesting. So I asked Judy B if I could add it to the nests here. We'll see if it catches any one's interest.

Hope you will check it out. The parents are beautiful and have raised many eaglets. The land owner decided he wanted to share this nest and hooked up with CCB. They track the eagles but do not band them. Neither parent is banded. That is what I read so we shall see how this goes.

Glad you checked it out.

I understand that they are still in the testing the cam stage here and that the view will be clearer when they are all set up. Here are a few more scaps from this new cam.....

Great snaps Mary wave

This cam has some great capabilities. They zoomed in on the eagle that was eating at the fence. Then they can pan around the area. The cam is on all night and as you can see in Mary's snap the view is pretty clear. I think they did their homework on this cam set up for sure. It is fantastic to hear them calling to each other....I miss that at some nests.

The chat runs from 8 to 8.

Here are a few pics from the late afternoon...

Mom is a really bigger than dad. Mom is also broader. Dad really is slender.
