Best pics were caught of the adult in the tree.

People in the house right below the tree were picnicking in the front yard. I mentioned the eagles were likely waiting for leftovers. Titter David thought they were concerned about so many people so close and needed to protect the nest but my thought was if that was the case they would have left. Many feathers on the road showed that in reality the chicks must have been well fed, possibly with nestovers ready so both parents could relax from hunting for a while. fingers crossed

On leaving we discovered the adult in the nest was sitting higher. Still no little heads visible. Sad

I enjoyed looking at your pictures Thank You Sandra, so much detail in the close-ups.Clapping
I really think that the Stalashen eagles are used to people being around.

Yes, the tide was way out that's when we love to go down there. As we live just a few mins away Mr. SC and I are often found walking there.Grin You just happened to be there at the right time Sunday.giggle

Good morning eagle lovers.:hello:

7a.m. Looking through the telescope at the Stalashen nest.
I saw Ma and Pa there, one in the nest one at the top of the tree.

The one at the top flew out and a few mins later the one in the nest took offSmile.
Soon one returned to the nest and this is a picture I captured, if you look closely you can see a little head. Both Mr. SC and I can definitely say we have seen one head for sure.ClappingGrin but we'll keep checking in case there are two. This picture a feeding is going on.

wave Yesterday found me driving into the nest site again around 1:30 to find 1 adult in the nest. I got out of the car with the camera but while walking under the nest to get into position to see what I could see, I saw a bird shadow fly over me and then heard trilling in a tree closer to the ocean. I couldn't find the eagle, sun in eyes, much tree foliage but a noisy dive bombing crow gave the eagle's location away. The adult was gone from the nest, still no little heads seen.
A resident ocean side asked me if I had seen his missing dog so I assured him I would keep an eye out. Sure enough, she came trotting down the street thankfully with a leash dragging behind so I was able to nab and return her to a worried owner. Clapping A successful nest visit after all. Roll eyes

Good morning. Both eagles present at 7:15a.m. Beautiful day here today. Saw one feeding so far.
Hi gd thanks for your kind words. Our eagles certainly picked a scenic area for their nest.
Sandra, you did your good deed for the day, how lucky you happened to be by the Stalashen nest at that time. I think it may be a little while before we can see a head/s down at the nest site. Looking through the telescope: because the trees are growing up in front of the Stalashen nest we now have to take the telescope out on our deck to take pics.

Yesterday, we saw an eagle fly over our house carrying a huge branch; it headed down to the Chapman nest.
