The wind is horrible!! There are bad storms and tornados all over the Midwest today. I hope our eagles will be OK today.

About 1:40PM This eagle...I think Mom because of the "furrier" neck ...has her head flipped all the way over--yes that is her throat!

She? called for quite a while but no answer. Maybe the other parent is afraid to fly in that wind OR can't make a safe landing. The Decorah Mom had a real hard time landing in the wind the other day.

Puzzled We both might have been wrong, Donna. When the other parent finally arrived it was the larger eagle so I guess we were watching Dad on the nest. Roll eyes

Here comes Mom to the rescue!!

Dad nearly blew off the nest when he stood up...missed the darn s'cap! Here's Mom snuggling down.

She is just turning her head in all directions...maybe poor Dad is being blown around by that wind Oh My

ETA: If they would just cooperate and look up at the cam I might know who is who...ARRRRGH!

It appears that I may have been wrong again. In Pricillish's video you can see the incoming eagle move the eggs into the more compact triangle shape!!! SOOOOO maybe we were right the first time, Donna!! I'm about to give up on that ID thing!! Rolling on floor laughing

same eagle out comes back, does a peekaboo coming in bottom left shot and tells the eggs it's not happy to be back Green LOL

I think this nest is an hour behind me, sooo that would makes these

3:53 to 3:54

this is why it's the same eagle, I think I'll just need time with them to get that 'sense' of who's who. When I was watching WR all day I could often tell you who was coming to the nest in flight...it just comes with time

4:12 PM ok I'm confused cause I just tuned in to find this...same eagle in and out again or they both have that spot!! With the nest swaying I can't watch but do peeks at it, I'm not learning anything! Green LOL

Lori...If you can't see their faces these two eagles look quite a bit alike. Donna and I have been trying to figure it out since we found this cam. Faint Mom seems to like to incubate the eggs in a straight row and Dad mostly like them in a triangle but that doesn't help unless they get up. Grin

It is not windy here today.

7:40 I believe this is dad. Look at beak and not as dark around the eyes.

9:51 Parent is up and digging. Things have been very quiet here. No alerts only geese flying overhead from time to time. I think this is mom by the beak again.
