Great pics Cal!
Jude, I got a picture of Mom lying in the nest. It's not very clear since it's so windy today.

I think there's an egg, since Mom's been lying in the nest since early this morning. Sherri, on the Maine forum, posted pics from around 6:30 AM this morning, showing Mom there........and she's still there!

What a wonderful sight to see the posts with our latest pictures of mom & pop at the nest!
Peggy, thank you for posting that pic of mom laying in the nest. I think there are eggs in the nest too. The water is like glass this morning. I can clearly see the reflection of the light pole and the trees on the opposite shore. It's beautiful!
Jazzel~So good to hear from you. Look forward to your observations!
Cal~How wonderful to see our family early this morning. I was out for my early morning walk and so I missed it. You captured it all for us. Thanks.
Mom has just returned to the nest. I have noticed her putting her head down, as though looking through her legs. She has done this a lot over the past week.
Does anyone know what this behavior is? My simplistic mind tells me she's simply looking at her eggs in the bowl without turning around but I really don't know.
7:26 Pops just flew in with a large stick!!!!!!

I don't have exact times, but I've been watching a half hour or so, and saw an adult (Dad?) arrive with a fish, which was promptly grabbed by the adult on the nest (Mom?) who flew off with it. Then Dad settled into the nest. That certainly looks like incubating behavior to me!
There's no one on the nest at the moment - Dad(?) left about 5 minutes ago. I don't think there's a problem with the egg being uncovered for a while - it's protected from the breezes by the nest - though the loss of the egg at Sidney has made me more aware that there are other risks than just temperature at untended nests.
12:02 pm
Adult back with big stick; puts it in place and settles in on the egg(s).

Great post JudyB! Good information.
1:42pm Right now one adult is in the nest. The wind is strong again today. The cam is bouncing around. The osprey is laying down in the nest.
