May 23rd ~ Esquimalt Lagoon

I photographed this family of Canada Geese at Esquimalt Lagoon a few days ago. There were 10 goslings, all having fun swimming around their parents and trying to keep up. The 2 oldest ones climbed over this log but the 3rd one had to struggle a bit. The rest of them got the right idea and swam around the log. Click bigger.

May 23rd ~ Esquimalt Lagoon

Here's one of the young swans born at Esquimalt Lagoon last year. It's feathers are almost completely white now. A pair of mute swans across the lagoon get coy with each other, and 3 of the 10 goslings are having a conversation. Click bigger.
