I went down to Boundary Bay today for one last look at the wild Snowy owls. Surprisingly enough there were several there - I counted 18 - and they were quite close to the dyke trail. There were less people there than before and all of them were behaving themselves by staying up on the dyke and giving the owls their space. Note to any locals: if you want to see them you'd best hurry. They will be here for a week or two at the most and then head back up north for breeding season. The best place to see them is at the foot of 72nd street and you must stay on the dyke so bring binoculars or a good telephoto lens.

As I was leaving I spotted this eagle on the golf course. The wind was howling and the rain was pouring down on her so she was definitely having a bad hair day!
