I went to Pat Bay this afternoon, but did not see Ma or Pa anywhere. If they were in their nest I certainly didn't see themSad

Too bad you didn't see them today Kay, probably gorging themselves on the salmon at goldstream!

I went to Pat Bay today to help Mindy (eaglesonly) try to capture the injured Greater White-fronted Goose I had seen at the beach yesterday. Although it can swim, it was still there in the same spot where it was yesterday. Unfortunately it kept swimming away whenever we tried to get close enough for Mindy to throw her blanket over it. I even enticed it closer with some bird/duck seed but it was too wary of us humans. Jeff from WildARC will try to capture it tomorrow, with Mindy's help as it will require going out in a boat.

I didn't see Ma or Pa as I drove past the nest twice but as Mindy and I were on the beach with the goose, I spotted one of them perched atop a tree by the Pat Bay Trading Post. After Mindy left, I drove down the road to get some pictures and saw the other one in an adjacent tree. The fellow who owns the trailer on the First Nations property waved me over so I could get some closer pics from the back of his property. I'll post some pics after dinner.

While waiting for Jeff from WildARC to arrive to rescue the injured Greater White-fronted Goose today, Pa flew over the First Nations Reserve and landed in the south field tree on the Epicure property. A few minutes later I saw Ma perched in a tree at the back of the First Nations land. Click pics bigger.
