10:30 This could be the incoming parent in a switch or the eagle was up to roll the eggs. I came in at this point so I am not sure.

Parent seems to be calling out. Perhaps wants a switch. This does not seem to be an alarm call.

Great to see this nest again! Out of all the nests I watched last year, I believe Jordan Lake was the first to lay and hatch their eggs, looks like it will be the same this year! Could be anyday now for a hatch and I can't wait to see a little eaglet or two again Smile Oh, and Hello Hi All!

Hi everyone! Glad to see the cam back online!

12:35 pm eastern time

Mom(?) was just up and rolled the eggs - didn't see any cracks or pips, but she really didn't give us a good look. I didn't get the sense that she was listening, so I'm thinking there may not be a hatch underway yet.

I think there was only one egg visible on December 5th - and if it had just been laid, today would only be day 34 for it. Eagle eggs generally take 35-40 days to hatch, and it's been my observation that the first egg of two often hatches on day 37 to day 39, perhaps because many adults don't start incubating full-time until all the eggs are laid. And even if the egg was laid on December 2 (so the initial report was just before egg 2 was laid), this would only be day 37 for it.

Which is a really long way of saying that it may be several more days before we see a little chick. Smile
