Jazzel...Please explain the males behavior ..why didn't he share / give the fish to the female..
Thank you....

BEV, I just finished uploading to Youtube, recordings from 9:15 to 9:40 am, I'll post the links.

I was amazed with the males behavior. All I can think, maybe she's not his new mate. Females can be just as aggressive as males, taking over a nest. The male would treat her as an intruder. Notice, she flew off several times and returned, maybe chasing his mate.

I'll get the Youtube recordings posted...nothing like a second lookFaint

An OspreyCam Update
A few months ago, NS Power and the Museum of Natural History were proud to once again bring a real-time view of a local osprey nest to fans around the world. Since 2007, viewers have tuned in online to watch a pair of ospreys happily build their nest and raise their young through spring and summer before flying south each winter, seemingly oblivious to the camera overlooking their nest.

But over the last few weeks, we've noticed Ethel and Oscar haven't been around much. By this time last year, Ethel and Oscar had rebuilt their nest and were caring for new offspring. This year, we were able to see some rebuilding of the nest take place but reliable sightings of an osprey have been rare since mid-May.

NS Power and the Museum of Natural History have been working together with the Department of Natural Resources to determine what may have happened to Ethel and Oscar. Given the long distances traveled by the birds to and from their winter destination, as well as any other factors associated with living in their natural environment, it is possible something may have happened to impact the ospreys' ability to repair and then remain in the nest. However, we've heard no reports to date of bird injuries or deaths in the area of the camera.

NS Power and the Museum are proud of the fan base built by the OspreyCam over the years and remain committed to determining the whereabouts of our feathered stars. There have been reports of osprey in the nest however it is uncertain if these ospry are Oscar and Ethel.

Nature is unpredictable. We will leave the camera running and see nature unfold. If you have any comments, contact us via Twitter at @nspowerinc or @ns_museum reply with #ospreycam. We'll post more information here as it is available.

BEV, you can send them the links to my videos...if you want..could help them understand this issue to date.

Also, I wonder why they don't know about the dead osprey reported near the nestPuzzled
