I was in contact with Jeff today by e-mail..i asked him about the phone calls and did some one actually see a dead Osprey ...

His Response

One person claimed to have seen a dead osprey at the site, but NSP saw no signs of a dead bird. Others I think were speculating because they saw no birds and just assumed it. Others just seemed mad there were no babies to look at

In all fairness to Jeff.. i remember that call about the dead Osprey... i know the area was checked right away and i also notified DNR the same day.. they went over also to check things out also...

I asked Jeff to ask NS Power to leave the cam on... incase one of us may see the male on the nest with a mate... so they will leave it on until i notify him we are not seeing any Osprey on the nest....

I am thinking if all the phone calls and speculation keep up .. they will have no choice but to disc. the cam for this season...JMO.....

Bev, that was good investigating, thank you. You are being highly reasonable so we will keep osprey eyes out for any male and possible mate!

i loved that one line about people just being upset there were no babies to watch - sounds like true human nature, thinking we actually have control over this?
Jeff does seem to be in a tough spot.
