Thank YouKelly for taking the time to do the collages and pictures of Oscar and Ethel..hug. it is much appreciated.. i have thousands of them from both years... OMG! remember that dreaded white bag....Phew

I am so confused.. that i will reserve any opinion right now...except to say that IMO that was/is last years Oscar on this nest when the cam came on and for many days after and still is....... .I was over to Mc Nabs Island last year and saw one Osprey Nest at that time... i am sure there are more. i didn't take the time to look... .. there use to be lots there... i also trust Herringman 1 judgement...and thank him for his contributions to this thread....

HFX65..Hi. Oscars nest is only a heartbeat from the tugbase. I have watched that pair take fish and go directly towards their home. WE make trips to Eastern Passage and Bedford Basin and we see the raptors from them nest also.I know thay fish the stocked lakes for rainbow and have watched them bring up 2 at a time but the Harbor is the main hunting grounds for all Osperys. Small herring are running at this time but other spieces like flounder and mackerel come later. I have watched Oscar bring many flounder to the nest.He could not get them in the deep water of the harbor so he would have to fly to the beaches of eastern passage and macnabs island, a long trip for him. When the Mackerel start to run in late june Oscar and his mate are regular visitors to the tug base and often perch on the spar of the tug. IMO the two regular visitors here are Oscar and Ethel. In Bedford Basin on a late evening every light pole on the container pier will have an Ospery. I love to watch them hunt and hope to get some pics this season. .
