Nevermind the fact that I'd bet a lot of the traffic that the gardens get is due to the eagles! That's the only reason I would go!

It's that time of year when I throw in some stories of things going on at the WCV. This is a link to an article about a bald eagle release that took place today.

The WCV did another successful eagle release today, 8/2, at Berkley Plantation. It looked as if it was a much smaller juvie that the one yesterday so perhaps it was a male. This link will take you to the history of this eagle with the WCV. If you scroll all the way to the bottem of the page their are pictures of today's release.

For all of you who read or participated in the chat next to the Norfolk cam, I'm posting just a short part of a much longer post from Facebook concerning Freebird who was one of the mods on that chat. Sad

Eagles at Norfolk Botanical Garden -------

It is with a heavy heart that we bring you this news. On Monday, July 30, 2012 eagle cam moderator Freebird, Rosanne Santillo, lost her battle with cancer. Her daughter contacted us last night. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time . . .

Fly high, Freebird, with the beautiful eagles that you loved so well. May Mom Norfolk watch over you. sad

Still another article on the removal of the three eagle nests in the Norfolk Botanical Gardens----I still think that Dad would just get busy and build a new one--that's home to him!
