Rolling on floor laughingLove it. ... I could use the humor tonight!

Can't we all-- Trying to be a Pollyanna - it has been a VERY unique and educational season so far. STRESSFUL would be the most fitting one word description in my mind - what's left of it

STRESSFUL about sums it up. Unfortunately and sadly I think it is only going to get worse with the increased population of eagles (which is wonderful) and the lack of nesting trees.

I adopted the Delta2 nest!

I was making my last check before turning in and noted this information - gorgeous photo - He must have the ultimate in lenses and camera to capture this quality of an image at the distance it had to be taken from -

Congowings:
One last post --- Cary Lynch has given permission to share this closeup of the brood patch on the male. You can just make out the bare skin where the feathers are parted. Please remember that photos are the property of the photographer and are protected by copyright laws. Permission from the photographer must be gained in order to use them. Thank you Cary for allowing us to post it here.

I looked at the whole series of Cary's pictures and I though it looked like the female was also starting to get a brood patch in one of her photos as well. Congo posted the link to the whole series of the mating earlier on the mod chat.

6:40 am
I just brought up the cam to see this close-up of the male

As far as I know, there hasn't been a confirmed sighting of the dark-tailed female (his new mate) since yesterday morning,

Cam has found a second eagle. Duane (photographer at NBG) had said in chat that the male's vocalizations meant he was upset, so this might be the intruder - experts aren't sure yet.
