Yes, JudyH, I'm sure that there was a short-lived attack before 1 am, not like that on the video of the earlier attack, thank goodness, but very unsettling to know that the battles will probably not end here. Sad

Hello Debs I didn't see your post, I should have known that you would still be upWub - guess you and Mary never sleep??

1:55 am DT is still sleeping peacefully on the nest. What an introductory day of sound on this nest! But it does show how useful it can be.

It was a busy day and I'm done in, sure hope that this lovely pair are left in peace for the rest of the night at least. Good night

Bluebird...I think maybe Debs and I are always the ones who put the forum to bed for the night! If we hadn't been up tonight we wouldn't know about the nest drama! The latest episode of How The Nest Turns!!! Titter

You might have missed quite a few interesting posts...scroll up and take a look.

2.20 Some brief calling from both DT and dad, but neither one moved out of their positions. Both facing to the 3 oclock. (I should be in bed - but I can't help it).

Bluebird wave Not to worry its easy to miss a post here ...it happens to me often especially at night Titter. I was trying to sneak away when I thought I best check on this pair and low and behold....lots of defensive behaviors seen...calls thrills and trumpets. I missed the fly by so glad you and Judy H were here to document it Clapping. I too pray that this intrusion has been resolved for this pair; they both deserve a successful nesting season.

Mary You are too funny giggle :-) I will be stormin heaven that we will be only watching reruns here Nodding...... no new "intrusion" epsiodes required Clapping

Judy H Its hard to turn it off when their is action at a nest hey.

225 am
Mom is still seated in the nest and Dad is
still perched on the branch near 12 oclock.

Both appear to be tracking or watching something
out of our view in the direction of 3. Neither are
resting they seem to be on alert.

Have a good night all.....Now I am definitely sneaking away......sleepy

2.51 Calling from both adults... Not sure what roused them. It lasted 30 seconds - ish. Both are looking to the right... (Dad ... looking directly at 3:00 from his point and DT looking 2:00 from her point).

2.53 Calm... both still looking in the same direction and remain in the same positions... dad perched on the love branch... DT in the nest, facing 12.00.

3.52 Quiet and peaceful .

Baffling to me.... Would love thoughts.... As I understand it...females fight females... and males fight males. I understand that dad had to do what he had to do on the nest this evening (around 6:30ish ) when he had to defend his nest and fight the intruder female, as DT wasn't there at the time, although she boldly arrived shortly after... and they ultimately defended their nest.

I watched a video, posted by sidigirl from the Norfolk forum... at 1 ish am (Thursday, March 8), where there appeared to be another eagle that dad went after and possibly had a very short fight with. DT stayed in the nest calling the whole time. Do we presume that this was the same female that he fought with around 6:30.... or perhaps, a different eagle all together... and a male? If it was a female intruder... wouldn't DT be the one to challenge and fight... because she was on the nest...and female? Just curious...

03:30 Nest check, Dad still perched on the love branch, DT laying in the nest facing the rear. Reading mod chat and I should have stayed up all night...dad attacked twice. I wish I could have recorded all night to get all this. I know there's a reason for the commercials but darn, it's causing us to lose a lot of educations information
03:40 Dad calling out again, then preening. DT still down low on the nest...things must be okay.
Sounds like another eagle is staying at the garden attacking dad at different times. This is not good
