Ist Diane that is a wonderful pce. of poetry" If. I have it in my books. "Thanks Dear heart for listing it here. Naoma what a jewel of a picture. It made my day. Iam at peace.
I have an old workable Marconi radio too Diane of my familys way back in 1940s during the war. It was run by battery. Oh the old plays that was on.The Shadow knows I was scared to death of that and had to have someone walk up stairs with me at bedtime. Another of them I remember was Stella Dallas haha....Later Mom had it returned to Electric. Oh yes and Amos and Andy and on and on. You know while it was years ago I still remember the wonderful attitude of people , everybody helped each other the farms with the thrashing helped each other. Then in those days people were satisfied with what they had and made no bones about not being rich.Everyone knew each other. Schools were wonderful then teaching was taught , My teacher made 400 dollars a year. Teaching One of the best ever. We waked to school over a mile and a hafe.The winter was cold .. Life was great then , harsh but good,at least people seemed Happier than they are to-day to my mind.I could write a book about the 1930 and 40's.Another thing also people were kinder.I came into this world in 1926,, 5 yrs after my beloved sister.How I miss them.I also have all the old musical records of songs we used to play on the record player that my Mom had and Daniel keeps them for us.Old old old I must stop as I get very emotional when it comes to my family , all gone.Just me now and Iam 85 in Oct.

Good Evening in Singing Bird Lane!

Oh Jean! how terrible to get stung 2 times! and by all means you are NOT stupid. That could have happened to any of us. That must have really 'smarted' under the tender part of the eye like that. I did have to laugh at the little photo of the lady looking into the mirror that you posted! that was cute.

You also made me smile when you talked about the raido programs you listened to years ago. And how y ou were a scared little girl and had to be walked to bed. Yes... those times when you were a little girl and and I was a little girl in the 1950's sure are different that it is now a day. These kids now don;t know the meaning of 'life'. I love ot hear about your growing up days. But I am sorry they make you sad.

Naoma.. vicki.. I sure hope both of you are well...........

Have a good nights sleep in Singing Bird Lane!

Sleepy Time Gal Lyrics
Artist(Band):Perry Como
_____________
Sleepy time gal,
You're turnin' night into day!
Sleepy time gal,
You've danced the ev'ning away!

Before each silvery star fades out of sight,
Please give me one little kiss, then let us whisper "Goodnight,"
It's gettin' late and, Dear, your pillow's waitin' . . .
Sleepy time gal, when all your dancin' is through,
Sleepy time gal, I'll find a cottage for you.

You'll learn to cook and to sew,
What's more, you'll love it, I know!
When you're a stay-at-home, play-at-home,
Eight o'clock sleepy time gal!
sleepy

I was sifting through some poetry of chief Dan George which I love' & Realy it went to my mind and I was absolutely floored by the soothing effect it gave me, Just unbelievable. What a wonderful person he was. and if I could have moments like that to write poetry like that. , I would be in seventh heaven,....Jean
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The softness of the air,
The beauty of the trees,
the fragrance of the grass,
speaks to me.
The summit of the mountain,
the thunder of the sky,
the rhythm of the sea,
speaks to me.
The faintness of the stars,
the freshness of the morning,
the dew drop on the flower,
speaks to me.
PS
if I did this before forgive but I will leave it here so I can quickly read it when needed,
Click on image to download Yes and all of you. Wondering how everyone is. Iam here after the sting, Learned my lesson. Don't ever go near a bee Hive. The swelling went down under the eye and Im back to true form.... myself haha ( I think)Sun is shining and a perfect day outside. Nothing much on the agenda, maybe another snooze though. Gabe and me are getting older. , and time travels fast seemingly. We are able to hire our help for outside and I have a cleaning lady come in every two weeks. I am able to do things pretty well myself ecept the heavy things.
The crew came over yesterday ( Sunday) and Miel had lots of fun. They both work and now that the older daughter (Rebecca) has a job in Toronto at the Library, she has found a good place to live and also study there, Stephanie is looking for a job now too. Scarce around here except Walmart does hire the youth which is good. and the experience is excellent and the pay not bad at all. The Walmart here in Trenton is huge, So that helps Daniel and Jennifer out considerably. I love my family they are all really wonderful and pleasant and energenic ,so everything is hunkydory here in our world.
