Perhaps the movement that has appeared sporadically on the left side of the screen is an errant twig left hanging by the adult who was pulling at a small branch as you describe Judy. :dunno: At first I was concerned they loosened a cord to the cam, but it looks somewhat thin for that. Too significant to belong to Charlotte. Grin
It's gone now, maybe a shadow of a loosened blowing twig when the sun is in the right spot to show it? It was there about 12:45. It's now 1:05 and they have left the nest for now. Glad you caught them Judy! Cheers

I got a brief video of whatever was blowing around, stim, and am hoping that it's too small to be anything essential for the second camera. I put the video in my album in the media gallery - link is mediagallery/media.php?f=0&sort=0&s=20111104160434358 - and I've no clue if it will play from there.

I also sent it to Richard and Karen so they could check it out as they know what sorts of things are in that area of the tree.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed....

See if anyone agrees with me. Both the male and female were together on the nest about ten minutes ago. So, of course, when they are together, the female (stands out) Smile Ok, so I was looking for something that we could tell the difference when they are apart. Well, when they are together and facing the cam, you will be able to notice that where the white feathers meet the dark feathers along the chest area, the females' (larger) white feathers are all out of whack, meaning that it looks like someone was doing her (do) and they took the clippers and did a (shag). Her feathers has a big chunk out of the front. Whereas, the male feathers in the front are pretty even (not perfect) but pretty close to a good line Smile Whatdoyathink? lol

It looks too thin and flexible to be cable - also it tapers - which a wire wouldn't Smile

Excellent news - thanks, Pat! Smile

Good observation, llefty - I'll have to keep an eye out for that next time I see them! Left thumb up

Gold Star llefty! We used that to identify Ma last season, too. LOL

I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made

Well done llefty! When the feathers are displaced differently than what you describe, Ma actually ends up with a white dot on her left upper breast. But as Terry has mentioned, feathering can change. It helps for now though! Left thumb up
And Judy, well done with the video! Cheers It opened fine for me and showed exactly what I was referring to. I'm leaning towards the shadow of a partially torn twig still attached to the tree and blowing in the breeze as that is the least invasive to our nest watching this season. Left thumb up Not visible now, and twigs do taper. Smile

This is a picture from this evening (time on the s'cap is fairly accurate) that I'm just getting around to posting - and I think the thing hanging down could be what we were seeing earlier.

That does make it seem more likely that it's some sort of twig or little branch.

The eagle was only there for a minute or so.
