Hello Welcome to our Delta O.W.L. nest wvusa! Raccoons have made more use of this nest this spring than any eagle has! raccoon In case you're interested, there is also a Delta 2 nest with cam and parents currently incubating 2 eggs. Egg HatchEgg Hatch We've pretty much given up hope of any eaglets here this year. Cry

Thanks for the reports, stim and wvusa!

To be honest, I'd rather watch a raccoon nest than an empty nest, so....

I'd worry a bit if I thought the eagles were likely to take up residence, but I'm guessing they're not going to do that here at this late date. Sad

I guess we need to start calling this our raccoon cam, eh? Too bad no one put a metal collar around the base of the nest tree, as was suggested, to prevent the coons from reaching the nest. David Hancock says the eagles will not use this nest if they see the raccoons in the nest.

Just wanted to clarify for WVUSA and any other new members that the nest we call "Delta 1" is a totally different nest and has not been active for several years now. Following Delta 1, we installed the cams in the eagle nest at OWL so that is "Delta OWL", which is the cam you are watching here. Our latest Delta cam is the one we call "Delta 2". I think what is confusing to some people is that WildEarth, who streams our HWF cams, has "01" as part of the title above the cam where it says Delta OWL.

There is some fresh greenery in the nest.
Who did that?
