Good morning, cococat, Sandra, Pat and friends!

10:00 am
Beautiful morning.

I thought I saw a bit of activity over on the left - but it turned out to be a several little black birds, not one big bird. Nice to see something, but.... (They're not visible in the picture)

I think what you saw is not an eagle, Sandra - there's something there that has fooled me on occasion as well.

I just checked the 2011 timeline (link), and the first egg was March 10 last year. I'll probably continue to check in fairly often until the middle of March - but I am not terribly optimistic at this point, knowing that they began spending quality time at the nest in mid-February last year. Still, a couple of weeks one way or the other are normal, so fingers crossed

Thanks JudyB, I was hoping against hope that it was an Sitting eagle, like you I'll keep my hopes up. Thank you for diligently keeping your records.

5:19pm All I'm hearing is the little chickadees, and of course the wind, also a small plane is heard.

Well, no news is good news? Ma and Pa were again a no-show. I did take a couple of pics for, if nothing else, reference purposes. They speak for themselves don't they?

I did a very quick tour of the immediate area as well including Bandit's old nest.
Those pics will be posted on the Ground Observers thread: here

Judy...Super great pictures of the nest. Does not look like a very promising nest for this season. It is beginning to look like they are taking the year off or using a nest elsewhere.

Thanks for the oodles of good pictures and info in the ground reports forum.

8:38am ~ beautiful day. No sign or sound of any eagles Sad or any critter in the nest.

I know I'm a terror for leaving things to the last minute -
But these eagles are really cutting it fine!
No work has been done to the nest - at all Roll eyes

Wow!!!!! the sound is excellent at the moment. I've heard a train, an eagle in the distance, a car, a bird that I think is a blackbird.
There's a very light breeze, but nothing to speak of.

5:21pm
Small plane passes by.
It's clear enough to see the north shore mountains in the background too, and they are a bit of a distance away Nodding.

Hmmm - I wonder if Mom and Dad have hired some Martians to come work on the nest?

Not sure where the light actually is, but this is the first time I remember seeing it.

It gets fainter, then gets bright again.

It is a beautiful evening - but would be even more beautiful with eagles.

FRIDAY, MARCH 9TH, 2012

7:52am
Wet and windy, no eagles.

JudyB, neat photos with the light. Wondering if it might be coming from the sod/turf farm or maybe from a work site (there's a lot of construction with roadway going in in that area) Puzzled.
