Thanks Jewill for your report. I really appreciate that you went looking for another nest and happy that you didn't find one. I'm not giving up hope yet. These 2 are usually late starters.fingers crossed

I adopted the Delta2 nest!

I saw an eagle fly in from the left.
It landed just above HWF.
I haven't seen it fly out yet.

CU cam shows an empty nest, no eagles or raccoons.
The sun must be shining. there's some shadows dancing over the bowl, there's a bit of a breeze.

I stopped by for a short visit with Bev and Chris on Tuesday morning (between Judyb's posts at 8:45am and noon). I did not see any action at all around the nest or even the trees.....but there were many eagles in the area, adults and juvies. Across the roadway from OWL there's a piece of property with a big tree on it and there were two adults and a juvie perched in it. I was hoping the adults were Mom and Pop DeltaOWL but :dunno::.

Thanks, jewill. I was concerned about the Delta 1 nest -- it has been the biggest disaster with eaglets falling out of the nest two years in a row. As I recall, the nest was ruined in a storm, and the poor female eagle actually laid her eggs on the ground. This is heart-breaking. So any news you can give us here about that nest would really be appreciated. Maybe you could even sneak in a picture....

:hello: Beans!
I will definitely get an updated picture of Bandit's nest as soon as it stops raining around here for more than a few minutes at a time, in other words, don't hold your breath. Seriously though, I'm at OWL twice a week and in the general area quite often so I will pop by ASAP (I never thought to snap a pic yesterday).

Good morning! Thanks for the reports - and news from the area - Sandra, Judy and Pat!

6:57 am
Just saw someone - probably juvie, though maybe hawk, land briefly on the slanting branch where we've seen one before. Was only there for a minute or so.

Looks like another wet, windy day in Delta.

Good Morning....:hello: Judy. Scared me a minute I thought I missed a day. It is still Saturday dear Judy.giggle
Great catch BTW. You must have the fastest screen shot finger in the west. I am still keeping and eye on this nest off and on. Have not witnessed anything major except birds soaring by so fast I can't tell what they are.
Good to hear the ground reports and I will continue to watch and be hopeful. fingers crossed

I did that last week, too, cococat - Sandra caught it that time. I clearly am not to be trusted to post the day and date information - especially as I usually do it while half asleep. Titter I realized that I'd got the date wrong a few minutes ago and was on my way back to fix it - but you are also fast! :thumrht:
