Good morning everyone!

Hi terrytvgal, I have a mac, so I'm not much help with PCs, but I did find this (take out space after // and before windows - it wouldn't let me post the link otherwise):
http:// windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/windows-media-player

It has a section for Windows XP on the bottom left column.

Hope that's helpful.

7:14 ok, I think it's working now. When I went to the cam page from Safari, a pop-up came up that said:

Safari can't display content on this page.

Some content on this page requires an internet plug-in that Safari doesn't support. The application "Windows Media Player.app" may be able to display this content. Would you like to try using "Windows Media Player.app"?

I clicked "OK" and a separate window came up with the cam. Sound and all.

You can barely see 2 white heads here. And there was just a little chatter also.

7:44 - 7:46 The perched eagle leaves to the left, the incubating eagle isn't very happy and after a long conversation, they switch places. I love that there is sound!!

Glad you were able to get the cam to work with Safari, eaglet! Nice to see the early morning pictures of them incubating.

And I don't know how much memory the plug-in uses, Terry. The plug-in itself is 160 kb on my Windows 7 computer - but I'm not sure if it uses additional memory when it runs.

8:30 am

I looked in at 8:12 and Derek(?) was up looking at the egg

But he settled in to incubate by 8:14 am

And is still there, looking reasonably peaceful, and spread out a bit to keep the nest cup dry.

Lying in the nest must be a somewhat uncomfortable thing for adult eagles to do - they sleep standing up the rest of the year - so it makes a lot of sense that Savannah would want a break after a night of incubating.

10:35 am

Dad Derek continues to incubate the egg. Mom Savannah was off somewhere when I began watching, then returned to perch on the edge of the nest structure.

10:42 am

Derek stood up, stretched and moved away from the nest. You could almost see Savannah sigh a little, knowing it was her turn.

10:54 am

She took over a minute or two later, and continues to incubate. Derek wandered off.

Savannah is quite a bit bigger, so doesn't need to spread out quite as much to keep the nest cup dry.

The first egg was laid at 4:07 pm on Wednesday, January 18 - so another egg could appear at any time, though I'm guessing sometime in the afternoon or early evening is most likely.

Good Morning EV1!

Everything looks calm and peaceful at the moment. Not a very pleasant day for incubating or laying an egg though!

Now here's a dumb question after having watched all these years. Does anyone know if the female can postpone laying her egg for any length of time if they needed to?? I would think if they could it would be for a short time only.

About 9:15 this morning, Savannah decided she had had enough of sitting around by herself, got uo, shook of the rain and called for Derek. Derek arrived and after a short conversation Savannah decided she would carry on with the incubating duties. Obviously, she cautioned Derek he had better not leave her alone though as he is still sitting there!!

Video Camera Approx. 2 min.

A non exchange!

ETA I have edited for brevity
