It looks like a big dent in one and a crack in the other doesn't it? From one of the other cams what I saw was two large pip holes. It's interesting to see things from different angles.

It is Indy--Frank doesn't like the night shift but he often keeps her company.

I've only been able to make cam 1 resizable, so that tends to be what I watch.

I think some of the line around the egg in back in my s'cap might be nest material - but I did see a sizable crack. I didn't notice the dent (or whatever it is) until I looked at the pic.

Getting late here, so I guess I'll have to wait and see what the morning brings!

Wonderful news - thanks, Mary! I lost the cam a little while ago and hadn't tried again.

Congratulations to Indy & Franklin! Grin

Thanks JudyB I just figured that the other one would hatch for sure by this morning. We had two chicks last year that we called the twins because they hatched so close together. How cute are they? Indy and Frank must be very proud this morning--it's been a long wait for these little ones! Wub

From AEF this morning:

May 7, 2012 - We are so excited to announce that 2 eggs hatched out in the early morning hours. 1st hatch was at 12:06a.m. EDT May 7; 2nd hatch was at 1:40 a.m. EDT May 7. Congratulations to our parent eagles who are diligently caring for their two youngsters. We are still waiting for the 3rd egg to hatch.

We know that the first hatch was some time before that. My s'caps were taken right at midnight exactly and the chick was already there. Their watcher must have been dozing on the job, Wink

True - but this simplifies my record keeping - with my spreadsheets in mind, I was trying to decide how to record a hatch that happened exactly at midnight! I suppose that might be when they confirmed he was completely free of the shell? But I agree it's at least equally likely that they missed the quick glimpse when you got your s'cap of the little one. I don't remember when last year's twins hatched - but I'm thinking this is the closest I've ever seen two eggs hatch - most "twins" are at least 6-8 hours apart.
