Welcome, Bev!
I readily admit this is a bit scary to watch. They have made the nest sturdier and perhaps a little bit bigger - but it's still a pretty small nest!
I am glad you stopped by - it does indeed look as if there may be something happening with that egg!
I need to get back to work now, but will try to check in soon to see if there's any progress.

She does look way too big to fit back into an egg already, JudyB! It never ceases to amaze me how quickly they grow! She is too cute bobbling around the other two eggs. I have been peeking in here but that nest still concerns me especially with three eggs this year. There are plenty of sparse spots even with the work they did on the nest. This pair needs nest building school.

Good morning!
I hear what you're saying, Mary - and given the number of other nests that need observers, I'm not sure how long I'll continue to watch to the degree that I have been. The folks at the Sutton Center are also good at posting reports when anything of interest happens, so I'm confident that there will be a record of this nest, whether or not we do much posting here.
I also know this pair has a history of having eggs that don't hatch. Only one of their 3 eggs hatched in 2009, and two of the three hatched in 2010. They laid four eggs in 2008, but we don't know how many hatched because the cams went down about the time the eggs were hatching; when they were able to fix them a month later, there were two chicks.

It might be a piece of nest material - but it looks as if the egg in back may have a pip hole

Either the piece of grass is getting bigger, or....

4:10 pm
Another feeding for #1, and more napping for #2

There's a whole lot of straw or fluff of some sort in the nest, and some of it has been pulled over the chicks and egg - everyone is there, and doing fine, but they are a bit hidden in the second pic.
