Now... this really makes me wonder if dad did come home shortly after dark last night and there was a switch.

Dad remains in bowl
Mom rearranges the nest a bit. Is she trying to distract him so he moves? LOL
It worked . Dad gets up and moves out of the bowl.
They both stand for a moment...
As mom begins to move towards the bowl, dad moves to the right and takes off...
Mom is now settled in the bowl.

8.08 dad makes a surprise visit.
They gaze at each other lovingly for a bit... awwwwwwwww!!!
He works the bowl on the very same stick that mom was trying to move earlier this morning.
That stick is STUCK. Neither one of them were able to free it so that it could be moved.
He gives up and assesses some small sticks to the entrance of the balcony and steps on them... decides they are alright and fly hops up to the balcony, which is where he is just hanging out for now.

It has been awhile since I have seen them hanging together... at least that we can see.
It is so nice to see them together.

8.26 Happy couple still hanging together...Looks like a nice and calm morning.

Mom gets up and makes her way up to the balcony with dad and flies off.
Dad fly hops to be with his future kids...
Rolls the eggs and incubates.

10.21 Just stopped in for a minute and found mom on the nest.
There was an exchange sometime since dad began incubating at 8.31
