I'm late posting this - was away from the computer so catching up.

Eden is back!

An adult came in (presumably with food), and Eden made it about halfway up the side of the nest, then did the first combination mini-flight/mantle I've even seen, and landed in the nest!

Oh - almost forgot to mention - it did sound as if Eden was fed!

Judyb thanks for all the updates I had a busy day here and could not watch too much again today but I did watch for abit and I noticed Eden was really enjoying the Y and seemed to be alert to life beyond the nest.

I just watched the video where Eden takes off...sure look like she was guaging or assessing the wind before take off .... bless her heart she has grown up so fast She appeared to go to a lower branch so perhaps this was just
a branching and not a fledge In any event a huge milestone for our girl

I know she is young but given the rough start for this family Eden had to grow up fast...and furious at times. There have been other juvies that fledged at 10 Weeks so Eden would be part of a select few if she did fledge

Congrats to Eden on Branching and on a possible Fledge today too

Afternoon Maine

Nice to see Eden back in the nest

Eden has been perched on the Y since I logged on about a half hour ago.
She has repositioned and I thought she was going to branch
to a different place but she changed her mind.

I think Eden has a crop just caught a quick glimpse when she repositioned on
the Y branch.

Hi Debs! I do hope they'll be able to fix/replace the camera once the eaglet is out of the area - the problems it's having with brightness and contrast are quite a challenge.

I have three videos from this afternoon - first is just because it's beautiful, second is when the eaglet was looking around and I thought she might try flying out to a branch again, and third is a continuation of the second, with an adult arriving at about the 4-minute mark (and the cam already looking quite dark, though it was only 3:30 pm.

It also sounded as if there was an adult in around 8:30 pm, and sounded as if the eaglet was fed for 15-20 minutes; hard to tell by sound alone, but my impression was that she got quite a bit of food as she seemed to be peeping with her mouth full more often than not.
