I missed it, but several people on the Maine forum saw an adult come in at 9:59 am. They said it looked like a food drop, but not something Eden found interesting. I did see her working on something later, so that was probably what it was - I had wondered that she'd found something after all this time.

Adult stayed there a couple of minutes, did some poking around and possibly picked at the earlier food item - not sure about that. He or she left at 11:16 am.

I had to leave my desk right after the delivery, but folks on the Maine forum reported that Eden liked this meal better, and thought it might be a fish.

Eden is working the meal but pauses quite a bit
to call out to parents as if she is asking for some help.

Eden squeels and throws abit of a fit moves about the bowl
think the fish must be tough as Eden seems to want help.

Lots of noise in the nest area this morning.
Perhaps Eden has had enough to eat not sure.

Eden has moved away from the meal and she is tracking things out of
our view ....





I am out for the day....hope Eden has a great day and that she has lots to eat too

She's definitely enjoying exploring that branch.

AHHH! A branching eaglet!! Is this the first time that Eden has done this??

I think yesterday was the first day she was out on the Y branch, Mary, though we think she was on a little branch right next to the nest a few days ago. But nothing like this! If you have a few spare minutes (ha!), check out my video "out on a limb" from yesterday, when it was so windy, and when, like the young of any species I know, she just had to be out in the thick of it!

And breakfast arrives



Wish I'd been recording - with the shadows Eden looked like something from a vampire movie as she tried to mantle while on the branch! She did eventually realize that she'd need to come down to the nest to do an effective mantle. And now the adult has left and she's standing and doing a bit of peeping - I thought it was a food drop because that's about the only reason they stop by, but I'm not sure at the moment.

I do know my own breakfast is waiting - will hope there's more details on the Maine forum later.

Ah - looks as if there's something there. I think she just moved it nearer the left side where she usually eats. I'm guessing it's not a fish and she's hoping Mom will stop by and offer to help.

It sounds as if Eden tried one jump too many and may have made a premature fledge at about 3:47 pm.

She'll be 11 weeks old on Thursday, so is definitely old enough to glide to safety - and with all the flying back and forth she's been doing the past couple of days, may be able to fly quite well, even if she apparently hadn't planned to go.

Several people have called BRI, and I think they have someone in the area, so we're hoping for an update - but as we've seen with Linux, if she's perched somewhere, she'll be very hard to find.

I need to get back to work, but wanted to let folks here know what's going on - will post more when I learn more.

Folks on the WOW forum can hear her, and she sounds nearby - so may be on a lower branch on the tree, or perhaps a nearby tree.

Windy60 from the UStream SS got a video of Eden's flight - I've watched it twice, and I think it was a fledge. She's doing a lot of looking around before she leaves, and I think she was flapping as she released from the branch. As Windy said in her notes, it's hard to tell if she went quite where she was aiming - but I think she was planning to go somewhere!

A couple of people have seen a wing in the lower right corner of the screen - and I just saw what looks to me like the head of an eaglet - I think I know where Eden is hiding!
