Good news - the cam is again streaming on UStream!



Laurad reported on the Maine forum that there was a nice feeding early this morning - here's a link to her post with pictures from her iPad (I haven't figured out how to do that yet!)

Looks as if Eden is eating something. I didn't see a delivery, and nothing's been reported elsewhere, so I think she's checking for leftovers. Nest is looking quite handsome at the moment.

There appeared to be two food deliveries this evening. First was around 6:30, and it looked as if Eden grabbed the food (maybe fish?) and began to self-feed on the left side of the nest, while the adult moved around the nest and eventually began feeding on something that looked quite tough over on the right. The self-feeding only lasted 5-6 minutes, and the area was in shadow - but my impression was that Eden was getting lots of nice big bites out of whatever was delivered.

The second delivery was around 7:30, and the adult left after a couple of minutes. I didn't see that delivery myself, so don't have details beyond the fact that food was delivered.

One of the adults was in with breakfast around 6 am, and Lori from the Maine forum made a great animation showing the adult flying out over the water, then circling in to land on the nest - link is http://www.window-on-wildlife.com/index ... 0#msg47130.

Not a lot going on since then - it's a lovely day in Maine, and with the feedings yesterday and this morning, Eden has mostly been hanging out and occasionally dozing.

Eden was lying down napping for a while - haven't noticed her doing that a lot recently, and wonder if it's because he has had plenty of food in the last 24 hours. She's up now and peeping occasionally. I do love this nest, and hope they'll be able to fix whatever's happening with the contrast because it is just so beautiful.

Adult arrived at the nest - and Eden promptly grabbed whatever was brought and mantled. The adult waited patiently, and then grabbed the food back, and is now feeding Eden, who is rewarding them with her patented eardrum-shattering screeps.

Parts 2 and 3 are pretty boring - am just including them for the record; and I apologize for having another window show up part way through - cam was freezing, then browser froze.

The adult left about halfway through Part 4; Eden stood around a little - and then around the 8:00 mark she did some nice stretches, showing her big wings - and a bit of a flap hop!

Eden is 9 weeks old today - Happy Hatch Day, young one!

Good morning!

9:27 am
I just noticed that the cam is black and white - and thought it was in color earlier this morning.



Eden is up and wandering around. Haven't seen any reports of a morning food delivery, but it's hard to be sure as the cam was quite dark until recently.

I'm seeing a bit of color now, I think - and it is a foggy sort of morning, though supposed to be sunny later.

Cam just zoomed in to provide a nice close-up of Eden.



She did a bit of flap-hopping around the nest, but the signal was pixelating so I didn't try to get a s'cap. She is beginning to get some height with her hops now.

I'm pretty sure I didn't miss a delivery - but for the last 15 minutes, it's been looking as if Eden is removing fur or feathers from something. Some of the viewers on the Maine forum thought the food delivered yesterday might have been a gull - in which case there may be some leftovers with enough meat to make it worthwhile for her to practice her food-preparation skills.

The nest appears dark again; Eden is cheeping and peeping
periodically; no sign of either parent and no response from Mom or Dad either.

No change. Eden is calling for her supper...no response heard and no sign of
Mom or Dad yet.

I have had the cam up for quite awhile I never saw any food drops
today.

Its been so dark ....hard to see Eden at times but she has been active
calling out and even doing some wingaroos too.

Welcome back, Debs!

I've checked all the sites I know, and no one saw any visits by an adult or food delivery yesterday. Eden was well fed the previous evening, and did some self-feeding on the leftovers, but nothing major came in.

Quick visit and what looked like a food drop by an adult - likely Dad, based on the fact he didn't stay and try to feed.





Eden has been working on the food - but I'm guessing it isn't fish (or else is very tough-skinned fish) as it seems that she's still trying to get into the meat after several tries of a couple of minutes each. She is determined - and hungry - so I'm guessing she will get to the "good stuff" before too long.

And this is a s'cap from Lori of the Maine forum - I've seen Eden get almost this high, but have never been able to capture the leap.
