At least one of the chicks - and I think both - just stuck their heads up and looked around.

Looking back over Debs' posts, Mom was brooding the chicks at 1:22, and they've pretty much been alone since at least 1:55 pm, though adults have stopped by briefly twice. That would be quite reasonable if the weather was better - but there's been heavy fog/mist and possibly some showers, and generally adults are there to provide some warmth and shelter until the chicks get some feathers.
