You need to add File tags with a 1 between them to your post, californiakayaker - check out the helpful hints in my signature for more details. Smile

Added -

[ file ] 1 [ /file ] - but without any spaces; if you have two attachments, you need a second pair of FILE tags with a 2 between them.

Sorry - I was in a bit of a hurry before (happens when I peek in at work!)

Link - forum/viewtopic.php?topic=6#6

Quick summary added to my previous post.

I'm also happy to add the tags to your post if you're also in a hurry! Smile

Some questions :
Is the [filename]1[/filename] posted in the body of the text part of your post?
Do you upload first?
The instructions say that is how you get a thumbnail ....?
Has other instructions for a lightbox (whatever that is )

I think I'm adding to the confusion here - and I apologize for that.

You have successfully attached the picture to your post, by using the Browse button. So all you need to do is edit your post and use the File button (which is in the row of formatting buttons between Img and URL) - that will give you two tags and you type a 1 between them to make the first attachment show up where you have the file tags.

It should look like this if you're adding the File tags when you initially add a picture:

If you edit a post you've already submitted to add the File tags, it will look like this:

And I hope it's all right that I edited your post to make the picture visible - and now if you use the "edit" button at the bottom, you can look at your post and see just how I did it.

I'll take a look at the instructions when i have a chance and see if we can make them a little easier to understand - and again do apologize for any confusion.

I'd also like your permission to delete this off-topic discussion once you've seen it. Thanks!
