waveHey JudyB! You are so welcome, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed the pictures!

Queston for you...
On occasion I have noticed this, and Kit(eaglespirit) noticed this recently, that at times, the eyes of the eagles look different? I was thinking that it was dependent on where they were focusing at the moment, but not sure if that is the correct explanation? Have you noticed this and can you explain that better?

I found this picture from April where Liberty was flying into the nest and little Shasta was watching her come in to the nest. It is so hard to believe Shasta is now the same size, or bigger, than her own Mama!

Eagles have a nictitating membrane which is sort of like a semi-transparent inner eyelid, and they do look a bit strange when it blinks across. If that's the question, I think we have some s'caps from Delta 2 that give a good look at it. It lets them protect the eye but continue to see (that's not a formal definition Smile ).

It definitely is amazing how fast they grow! Smile

Thank You JudyB-that was very helpful! I'll share that with the other ground crew members who were wondering why the eye looks different at times!

I found Liberty on Bluff Branch for about an hour this morning, then I headed toward the nest where I spotted Shasta sitting on a branch calling continuously for a while. I headed over to the Family Tree and found Patriot there in the usual spot. After an hour or so, Patriot started calling, and then Liberty arrived! Patriot took off as soon as she came in...

Shasta couldn't quite make it, so she flew off...

Then, Lassen came flying in and gave it a try...

Somehow, Lassen was able to stick his landing, and without knocking poor Liberty right off the branch!
