I think it was Liberty on Bluff Branch today, she didn't stay long, so I only had a chance to snap a few shots.

Later, around 4:15 I found the pair in the nest area. They headed toward the river and I got a shot of them near a gravel bar in the river.

They both headed back to the nest area, and I got some video of them mating and breaking sticks and bringing them to the nest.

And here's a nice close up video of Liberty who flew right toward me and landed above my head on a branch. It looked like she was trying to break off the branch, she works at it for a while, but never could break it off. But, it was fun watching her try, especially that close up!

Saturday 1/7/12...
A small group of us gathered down near the nest this morning and were treated to a lot of great views of P & L!
Liberty was munching on a coot in the nest for while when we first got down there...

We chased Patriot all over the place today! He flew by the nest, headed over to Bluff Branch, then to the Christmas Tree, then down in the river near a gravel bar, and finally to Privacy Perch! He flew right over our heads at one point and we all waved to him! When I was driving east on Hwy 44 heading home, I spotted the pair together on Bluff Branch.love
Patriot was wading in the river, dipping his beak in the water...

I found the pair in the Family Tree on Wednesday and they started singing up a storm! They seemed to be expressing their love for each other, their 7 year bond seems stronger than ever! I got some video of it, just fast forward to 2:24 when Liberty sticks out her tail feathers and her left wing....Check out how she moves in closer to her mate after the singingloveRed Heartlove

Grin Yeah, the sun came out this morning! They had called for more rain today, but I woke up and it was clear as a bell!
I found the eagles in and around the nest area so I tried out my new 200-500mm lens. I'm still learning how to work my new camera, but it was great being able to get continuous shots instead of a long delay in between my shots!
Here's a series of Liberty in the nest when her mate comes flying in...
