It is Sunday morning, August 7, 2011 in Australia

7:36 a.m. in Australia
Looks as if Mom is enjoying a meal on the nest and Dad has arrived. (That's if it's the female eating . I am going by the normal behavior of our bald eagles so I'm not sure if the same thing applies to the white-bellied eagles. Liberty, would you happen to know if that's correct ??

7:38 a.m.
Mom left and Dad is now incubating the eggs.

Here is a picture from liberty's article of two nearly ready to fledge WBE chicks from last year.. I thought I would post it for people to see, giving the photographer credit, as we know nothing about this type of eagle.....well except for liberty. Smile They do look VERY different from our baldy eaglets!!

Such a beautiful bird! Do we know if this in an infra-red camera? from here in BC this cam is 15 hours ahead of BC time.(it 1:53pm Saturday afternoon in Sydney as I type this

Based on the information here today I am pretty sure I was watching dad on Friday evenng. His eyes were never still -- he was looking all around all the time.

I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made

This is fabulous!!! Cheers A new cam for us to watch in a far away part of the world. And what gorgeous eagles!!! Wub Thanks to all of you for the information, links and great scaps of "our" new pair!!! Thanks to jkr for setting the thread up for us and special thanks to our Australian member, liberty1998, for all the wonderful background, video and help with telling Mom and Dad apart. Clapping Thank You

It's nice to know that we dedicated eagleholics will have a new bobblehead to watch (or maybe two) Grin

Hopefully they will get their cam problems resolved and we will all be able to watch these new, beautiful eagles!! fingers crossed

Darlene...don't worry..I will let you know when it's safe to watch again if something happens!! Wooh

Thank you Mary! I am so soft hearted, that kind of thing haunts me for weeks! I'd appreciate knowing when it's safe to watch! I am very excited about the cam though. They sure are beautiful!!!

I'll leave it for jkr to fill in the general info on this eagle at the top of the first page....BUT... I went to do a little searching and found these beautiful pictures of the White Bellied Sea Eagle on two sites that have freely usable photos under the rules of "CC" I found them on Wikipedia and a special section of photobucket. I think they will give us all a better idea of what this beautiful bird looks like

great flight shot
