6:40 am.... Feeding happening, missed parent's arrival..looks like one hungry parent, eating more for themselves than feeding S2...so S2 reaching in to pick at the prey himself
6:45.... Parent picks up fish? And fly's off the nest with it...
6:46... the other parent flies in, didn't bring food and proceeds to pick in the nest for scraps...then flies off
6:51.... Parent back on the nest briefly, then flew off again
6:54... S2 plays with some eucalyptus leaves, then does some wingers..
7:15... After standing and preening on the edge of the nest at the 1, S2 is now laying down...wonder where the food went and why it was taken away?

I wonder why the food is taken away too, tuckerfan; I've been wondering that for weeks.
8:27am Stu is up and about and was doing some nice wing work 2-3 minutes ago.
AS I've said before, Stu blends into his nest environment very very well. At a quick glance he'd be easy to miss especially when he is still and the shadows are moving on the nest, as they are now.

I agree with you there Terry, S2 does blend in really well with the nest, I had to take a second look earlier when he was standing at the back of the nest, thought he was gone for a second
8:59... have been away for awhile, S2's crop still looks the same as earlier, so one would have to assume there hasn't been any more food brought in...
Out again for awhile

Quote by: deewermsoh my, the baby is no longer a small baby!! so big every day, haven't seen him much lately and see he has a name now. cute one too.

HI Doreen, Actually they do not name the seaglets but some of us thought S2 (what he is officially known as) slipped easily into Stu. Don't know the sex either, so "Stu" may well be a girl. Glad that you looked in and hope to see you again as S2 will fledge in two or three weeks if all goes well.
As to food being removed from the nest, they do keep a clean nest and Dad removes the leftovers, but any time I have seen fresh food removed before much of a feeding I have seen Dad return it. The past two evenings have been different though with Mum scarfing down most of the food and not feeding S2 much before she looks after herself. I don't know if she is trying to motivate him to be more aggressive and go after it but so far that is not working.
In fact, S2 is hanging back and appears intimidated. He has seemed to get enough to eat though but I did not see what transpired this morning, I guess no one saw the food brought back later either.
1:32 pm- S2 laying in the nest, almost disappears in this light.
1:42 Pancaked in right centre of nest
afk Checked forum and lucked to the first sighting of Ma and Pa Hornby at their nest this evening just before dark! Won't mention them again here but so exciting.
eta Glad also to see you back again, Debbie!

2:55... S2 still eating and has a substantial crop!
2:57.... Adult just left the nest, but left a little food behind...
