A little wing action from Stu. He was a little awkward on his feet and plopped right down.

Turned all the way around preening his back...his head blends in well with the rest of his body!

Biting those big "toenails".

I have to say I thought those close ups with NO NEST visible were too much. Very excessive.

S2 is more active these days and with close ups like that the camera can and has missed 1/2 of a parental drop down, say hi, and take off.

I hope the camera person doesn't do that again.

Little Kopit...I think we will have to agree to disagree on that subject. I think the rest of us love those close-ups! Wub We see plenty of touch and gos from the parents at other times.. They really aren't excessive at all...the zoomer only does that once or twice a day. Don't forget that the people who have installed this cam are using it for research on these eagles and they probably find the close-ups to be quite valuable to see how Stu is developing.

I disagree with you.

I am delighted with the few close ups we do get. 15 minutes in the morning, 20 - 30 minutes in the evening out of 1440 minutes (24 hours) a day is 3% of the entire daily cam stream time when we get to have close ups. Except Saturday mornings when the cam controller gives us about one hour of varied close ups.

The close ups are far better/sharper focus than the regular cam stream . The details of the feathers, the color markings of the face and beak, and the difference in coloring of the feathers are more apparent. Body posture, musculature and facial eye expressions are visible in the close up exposures that are not discernible in the regular view. A unique experience as there are only two other cam streams that I know of that have controllers who give the viewer and the scientists that opportunity.

3% of the cam stream time devoted to close ups is in my opinion too little rather than too much

We may not have seen all of the adult's body but we didn't miss the fact that the adult visited the nest. The Cam Operator did pan out after a few seconds but of course the Eagle didn't stay long on the nest. I feel pretty comfortable that the overall balance between Close Ups and Full Nest view is being handled well.

10:57am Stu is at 6oclock and as usual blending in well to the nest conditions making him hard to see.

NO meal this afternoon Sad

Stu is just lying quietly in the nest. The end of his beak has really turned dark.
