6:50am Friday Sept 23 Sydney

Stu had been asleep when something woke him up He either yawned or squawked -

and sure enough, both Dad - with fish in foot - and Mom landed. Mom wasted no time securing the fish and Dad took off. Stu stood up tall (He looked like an Emu) watching Mom with the fish. Then he tried to walk. Didn't work too well. Legs were wobbly and back down on his bottom he went.

Around 7:20am Dad landed with a dark bird in his talons. He stood on the nest for a couple of minutes looking for Mom to arrive. No Mom so he left. When Dad left, Stu stood up and did a couple of wing stretches - no flapping - just stretched them out Then back down to rest

12:00 I just tuned in and my heart stopped for a minute because baby wasn't in the nest bowl. I quickly found him further up in the nest!

Video of meal. Very short but Stu already had a decent crop so he's done ok for food obviously!

I've had that happen a lot on this nest. I seldom take s'caps when the shadows are so deep and dark... you can scarcely see anything.

I hope to get back to spending time here tomorrow. I'm sure he's grown lots in the last 2 days!

BTW ~~ I am wondering if anyone has noticed any nestovers on the nest? Stu need to learn to feed himself soon...

I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made
