3:05am nest time - Mum's awake!

3:20am - Mum is still awake and it's started to rain :umb:

‘Fitzwilliam’ one of the chat mods just wrote this about the these eagles and I thought I would share, because it sounds pretty special!

“She had a previous mate who failed to return to nest; don't know what happened to him; a male juvie showed up to help her feed the babies; current pop then came along and evicted juvie and took over as mate. Juvie was not mate; some think maybe he was a sibling of babies in the brood; so she's at least 8”

Thank you for that info KAT. If one isn't watching the cam and the chat right at that instance, the information is lost. So Mom is the 'matriarch'. Maybe that is why she tends to call the shots and seems a little bossy with Dad although she didn't call him back to the nest yesterday evening, she just chose to go off to stretch her legs for a couple of minutes and then sat back on the eggs.

Still waiting for the change.....looking around.

6:43am nest time - Dad in for the morning exchange

There he is...Mom stay on the nest....and then after a minute she stands up and take off. Dad roll the eggs and is on the eggs facing 3.
