Hey newbiE, Raining caught a racoon on our Delta 2 nest back on Aug 6. The most recent one in Delta was caught by jkr on Sat on the Delta OWL nest.
Amazing catch of the Decorah adult chasing the raccoon away! I wonder if that would have happened had it been a big burly full grown adult?
Talk about fall! What a sudden turn in the weather here on the BC coast! Overcast, rainy, significantly cooler than last week. Tooo sooon!! Hubbie did get into the water yesterday afternoon when the sun broke through for a short time.

Hi Aunties wave, WOW!!!!! Raining, thanks for posting the s'cap of the raccoon on Jet's nest, the rascal Grin. NewbiE, Mom Decorah sure didn't waste any time hopping down to protect her nest, the second that little head popped above the nest she was right on it cheers She sure gave him a good shot with her wing Nodding. The last time a raccoon photo was snapped at the DeltlaOwl nest it was curled up and sound asleep. it was so cute!

Stim, yes there has been a definite change in the weather......Fall is definitely in the air.

hi stim and sandra!

thx to you both, for the info on delta owl raccoon and confirmation of delta 2 raccoon it seems it must be a common occurrence on eagle nests! i searched those forums and found the pics....thanks mucho!

i guess decorah raccoon decided to retaliate for the previous nite's attack... and left a little GIFT for the P's on the nest the following nite! it was caught on camera...so funny.

i'm sure everyone has seen this before, but i found a REALLY COOL (no pun intended) clip on youtube of some adults and juvies taking a bath in vancouver! (from 2009). 2 adults and 2 juvies....i like to imagine that this is our delta 2 family is doing! Sitting eagleSitting eagleEgg HatchEgg Hatch anyway, the 'shoulder dip' is so fun to watch, and the adults are DRINKING water! (or so it seems)

O-M-G. after i had finished watching the eagle's taking a bath, i noticed that this user had mentioned that he had still photo's.

i clicked on it.... and STUNNING images.....(5 minutes). if you haven't seen his work, get a cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa....something to enjoy full screen on a crisp fall morning.... photographers name is tony markle.

Let's Try it Again!!

Karen has told me that David has scheduled
a crane for the two Delta nests for this Wednesday Sept. 21
I am not going to ask her for a time at each nest... Just keep your eyes peeled and spread the word if you see them.

NOTE: this refers to The Delta 2 Nest and the Delta OWL nest.

Good morning Delta2 aunties! I just had to share this here as it is one of my favorite nests and has had a very rough couple of years so I was so thrilled to start my day off seeing an eagle on the nest!

Maine Coast nest, eagle on the nest this morning

I adopted the Delta2 nest!
