The Nest

Upon the ground I saw the nest, so carefully constructed,
leaves, fluff, sticks and such beautifully situated.
We thought there was a nest up there as we heard the birds chirping,
and luckily at this time it was empty of its treasure.

The wind was strong, the storm came in blowing all about,
but the surprise of the nest this morning showed would could be thought.
The first thought was to leave it there so they could reconstruct,
while hearing them singing their song which says all is well.

The nest was used to raise a brood of I am not quite sure what,
but the birds would chirp, and we would look and possibly a robin,
the American Songbird who we all love nesting in the tree,
sets me up with a song, of joy, of happiness, of glee.

Since y'all are nestmates, thought you would like a poem about a "nest".

Raining.....that was sweet. (We will see about a book, thinking on this) I realized that you are in the storm's path and hope that you stay safe, secure and OK!

Bleu enjoyed the pat, especially after going to the nursing home today!
hugs,

Thanks Carolyn. We are preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. Talons crossed it goes out to sea but that does not look probable right now. I worry about the wildlife, raptors, etc. They showed the animals in a zoo who indicated there was something wrong and then the earthquake hit. So, hopefully they will migrate before this storm hits.

You must be preparing for your trip coming up soon.
