sandra gee:
NewbiE, it was Darlene who found the eagle's nest. I'm not sure exactly where it is but I suppose there is always the possibility. This could be a question for David.
Here is a photo of Bev Day and DeltaDan, taken just moments before his release (Aug. 28th, 2008). DeltaDan was named after an OWL volunteer who had recently passed away. The lady in red was Dan's wife. Needless to say it was an emotional moment for all who attended.
OMG....looooooove the pics and stories of delta dan and bandit. AWESOME. thank you so much, sandra!
darlene:
It has crossed my mind that the the other nest I found might be our Delta1 pair. It is too far away from there original nest to be the same territory but they could have taken over a new territory. It is unusually close to another pairs territory in my opinion that it really made me think/hope it might be our Delta1 pair.
wouldn't that be SO COOL if it WAS the delta 1 pair? probably no way to KNOW for sure, but 'let's pretend'.
good luck with your visit to staples, raining! every day you are gaining more and more skills!
sorry.....ONE MORE QUESTION for the experienced aunties... (oh, i'm SURE this will not be my last...)
is it POSSIBLE for a baby/juvie to do trilling vocalizations, or can they ONLY screep or peep?
cuz when delta dan fell, it sure SOUNDED like delta dawn was trilling! made me think that when oreo fell from nest, that our JET must have been screeping up a STORM!!!!

have a great day "champion aunties"!

GOOD MORNING, AUNTIES!
Well, Staples confirmed the CD left in the disc drive caused the problems but said once removed I should be fine. To be safe they sold me a cooling pad (bamboo) to sit under the laptop, hmm. It raises it off the desk significantly but I think I will get used to it. Mind you I could never type on something raised that high but I have a separate keyboard. However, I will be watching for any overheating in the next while. And you were right, jkr, no suggestion of replacement or even that anything could possibly go wrong with it. Some of the salesmen said they leave discs in most of the time but they realize they are there and if it overheats they take them out.
The picture of the eagle was not one I took, Stim, but I did see one yesterday soaring high above in my travels.
I guess I can't call the new eaglet "pip" anymore but it is hard to know how to address their cuteness without a name or a he/she don't you aunties find?
OK - the time zone thing. I have to address it and hope we can figure this out. Australia is 13+ hours ahead of my Province AND BC is 4 hours behind me. However, last night someone posted at the same time from BC saying it was 7:30 PM when it was 12:30 a.m. here (that is 5 hours difference). So you can see my confusion. Also, it looks like those posting from BC on the Australian forum are 1 hour out from my time. Just wondering? Are there parts of BC like Vancouver Island that has a different time zone from other parts of BC (I don't think so but am now curious). Thanks aunties.
Thanks for your scaps, Terry. Such a cutie!
Well, it is beach weather today for sure (so far no fog) and we are off for the day.
Have a Sunsational Sunday, Aunties and Everyone!

Good morning aunties! Raining, have a fun day! The new Australian chick is adorable! It is wonderful to have a new baby to watch again! Sure helps alleviate the empty nest syndrome!
I adopted the Delta2 nest!

BC does have two timezones. I'm in eastern BC and my timezone is one hour ahead of western BC
If you are running Firefox browser there is an add-on feature called Foxclocks where you can add the timezone for different locations. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... foxclocks/
Mine show up on the bottom of my browser which makes it handy when I have a camera up and want to know what the time is at that location.
