Hi Aunties wave

I have been having computer woes the past couple of days.

I just decided to try and load pictures on DVD’s so I could take my computer to Staples for diagnosis and opened my disc tray to discover ADBOE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 9 sitting in the tray. That is where all my problems have been coming from. The right side of my computer has been overheating and roaring and shaking. ALL on the right side where the disc is.

Staples installed the program for me and forgot to take the disc out.

Could that have been causing all my problems and if so could it have damaged my computer?

I hope you don't mind me posting this query but I understand we have some pretty computer savvy aunties.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if it could cause problems but I think Staples has some explaining to do!

I came for the eagles, and stayed for the friends I made

Good night

Raining, I am not the least bit computer savvy, but I sure hope you get some answers from Staples. That is a lovely eagle photo you posted above.

So does anyone know where the parents are now?

Hi Carolyn, due to the history of the Delta1 nest I've been very hesitant to drive by when over on the mainland. I did not want to see Mom/Pop/chicks on the nest.... because then I would just be worried sick about them. I drove by once quite awhile ago (a non nesting time) and saw 2 adults and a juvie in the tree next to the nest tree, then again on July 22nd when Judy/jkr and I spent some time together in the area. Luckily we we did not see any eagles around the tree and the nest looked quite dilapidated.

quote from NewbiE
is there ANY chance that the eagle nest with juvies and adults that was near our delta 2 (sorry, i forget which one of the aunties saw it) MIGHT be the delta 1 family?

NewbiE, it was Darlene who found the eagle's nest. I'm not sure exactly where it is but I suppose there is always the possibility. This could be a question for David.

Here is a photo of Bev Day and DeltaDan, taken just moments before his release (Aug. 28th, 2008). DeltaDan was named after an OWL volunteer who had recently passed away. The lady in red was Dan's wife. Needless to say it was an emotional moment for all who attended.

These next 2 photos were taken the day Bandit gained his freedom (Nov. 21, 2009).
Bandit was released at the FVBEF.

Good morning aunties! It is so good to back at my own computer with my coffee in hand!Mug of coffee Sandra, I drove by the Delta1 nest a number of times this year. I held my breath that they weren't using the tree and every time I went out there, there was no eagles aroundPhew

It has crossed my mind that the the other nest I found might be our Delta1 pair. It is too far away from there original nest to be the same territory but they could have taken over a new territory. It is unusually close to another pairs territory in my opinion that it really made me think/hope it might be our Delta1 pair.

I adopted the Delta2 nest!

Good Morning Aunties.....

Fascinating history of the Delta nests. I had a picture of Bandit soaring over the lake to his freedom on my computer screen for a very long time. It was copyrighted and I would not post it here, but trust me freedom was glorious for Bandit and we all even from a distance had our mouths open in joy. He soared over the lake, did a turn of thanks and then left to perch on a tree on the farside with other juvies.

Raining, no topic is off topic on a chat thread so your question about the computer was right on. Sometimes though folks will direct you to another person who knows more, but in this case, Terry was knowledgeable, yeah!

Smiles, Aunties, have a happy Day!

Raining, the "racing" you were hearing in your computer would have been the disc spinning the entire time your computer was on. I would definitely go to Staples and let them know about it. I don't think it would have done any damage to your computer but if it does act up in the furture I think you should ask them to extend the warranty on the computer free of charge. Or, if they were good business people they would replace the entire thing now but we know that's unlikely.

Sandra, I was also happy to "not" see any eagles in the Delta1 nest. In the meantime I hope it all falls out of that tree before some other unsuspecting eagles or hawks decide to use it.

Off to do some yard work around here before it gets too warm outside. Weatherman is calling for 30C --- about time ! I was beginning to think we'd never get our regular summer temps. We're more used to 35C this time of year.
