Yes, yes, that is Phoebe. Bibbo is a big Phoebe fan, Annie! She told me so!

Luna.....you are precious and Vivia is lucky to have you as a companion. I too could just grab and snuggle with you.

There has been a bird chirping outside of my study for hours. I wonder if it is looking for someone or a new birdie? At any rate, I love the sound.

To all y'all who have lost pets, I have been there too. We are so blessed to have them for whatever time frame we get the gift. Some of you know I write a lot of poetry and I am going to try to throw something together now for you in reflection of our pets. I hope you like it, whatever comes out of my fingers will be it, I do not revise.

A moment in time with friends who understand,
friends who do not ask for anything but our time, discipline and love.
A moment in time brushing fur so soft, bathing while playing with
paws that tell of time gone, time to come, time to be together.

We ask nothing more than to have this extend for moments longer than
we know we will receive.....yet, we hope, we learn, we experience, we know,
the precious thoughts of our pets who fill our lives with love,
with a look, a lick, a whisper when we are sad and then suddenly glad.

We know we protect, we discover new ways to help our friend,
we walk, we throw balls, we cuddle, we hold, we smile, we grin,
we laugh, we cry, we know we are so blessed by their presence.
And, in turn, they are blessed by ours, guardians of their path.

Watcher in the Woods

I had to post this for you to see. It is so amazing. It is also sad.

This is the skull of a goldfinch who hit my window and died. I have lots of "hawk shadows" on the window but it hit it anyway.

I left it outside - I usually cremate any small dead animal I find (mice, small squirrels etc) in my wood heater, but it is summer and it wasn't fired up.

It become kind of a CSI experiment. I waited until all the flesh and the brain was gone and then I put the skull in hot water and carefully cleaned the rest of the feathers and flesh off.

If you are able, take a look. The skull is transparent. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
