Hi everyone...just thought I'd pop in for a moment to let you know about an event that is coming up this weekend that may help with your eagle withdrawal symptoms, well at least for those that live in and around the Vancouver area. There will be live flying demos by Pacific Northwest Raptors, David Hancock is presenting and OWL is too - the weather is supposed to be fantastic so it should be a really fun time.

Richmond Raptor Festival (click for info)

And don't forget about OWL's Open House the following weekend, August 27-28, 10 am to 3 pm both days. An eagle will be released at 1 pm on both days as well.

Cheers!

Happy Friday everyone!!!
Gosh I have enjoyed all the posts and photos. Jas love your watermelon and the cat days of winter.....oh that brings back memories and in a few months there we are again!!! I have a photo of a cat in the snow from last winter....I'll have to look it up.
Loved the water saving photo and the igloo and cold graphics too!!!! Where do you find these???LOL

Carolyn you have a fabulous friend in Bleu and great that she loves the water. Our Erin has a black Lab who is terrified of water....what the heck's with that???

Annie those are gorgous birds!! I try hard to attract birds to our back yard. Unfortunately they are few and far between!! Sounds like you have lovely flowers blooming. Drought resistant are the best ones......we have lots of rock garden perennials that will soon be blooming.

I have been on the phone most of the morning with an artist friend from Florida and she is a bit worried about the storms coming in as they live on the Gulf.
Well I am off to a Girl's Night BBQ tonight and must make my baked bean casserole and pack my gear ready to go!!!!

I'm sorry I didn't get back last night. Hubby and I watched a movie after dinner and it got so late,
I figured you all were off in dreamland and wouldn't see it.

I looked in on our WR nest as I do every day. Remember that spider we kept seeing? Well, he built quite a nice
web over the cam lensWink. I never saw it before but conditions are quite misty there this morning and has fallen on it making it visible.

I also looked at the Ground Observer thread and found pictures I hadn't seen from eaglenut & Sandra Gee
They are the last ones of our beloved White Rock family. You will love them if you haven't seen them.

HelloJas You entertain me as always with your captions and fun pictures. Love the big/little kittys.
The Blue Jays are smart and know where the peanuts are. They come right up to the patio door looking in
and waiting for me to get them. They are fun to watch.
Did you 'air' your dream catcher?Grin

Hello Carolyn,
You make me miss having a dog! Ms. Bleu is such a great companion and brings you and others such joy.
The walks sound like such rejuvenating times and you sure see a lot of wildlife. I would love to see some photos
of the things you see.

Hello Arlene, I hope your friend in Florida will stay safe.
Tonight sounds like fun. You must tell us your baked bean casserole receipe....love baked beans.

Hello Hi jewill, Thank You for the Festival information. Wish I lived close.

I better get back to work before I have to fire meWooh.
Have a good day everyone.........see you later.

Hi Annie,

On a day when I do not mind carrying my camera also, I will take pictures on our walk. It seems whenever I do bring it, I see little special, but if I do not have it voila, there it is!

Annie, I do not believe you saw that this is Hornby cam's last year - i.e. final year. It is being turned off sometime on a high note with two successful fledges and what wonderful memories of these hysterical chicks. So you might want to go back and do an overview of the season sometime. Right now people are posting memories of their favorite moments there.

Jas, Bibbo agrees - she sees herself as a fluffy gray "something". Last night she was crying and I figured out that she was upset that the blinds were not pulled up so she could see out at night. She is exceptionally sweet and loves hanging out with me, or on my chair, while the others will pile on top of me at night (actually around, in their seemingly assigned spot).

Arlene, we taught Bleu to swim. Interestingly enough it is not natural at first, but as soon as they get going, they become swimming fools. My last golden wanted nothing to do with the water. Pretty interesting, huh?

Family is about to descend so I must leave here and will see you later friends.....
