Wow, Carolyn! How fun!
That little boy will be doted on, for sure. He will be prepared for marriage as he will know and understand all about living with females. It's so much harder to have to train them later.:p
Your grandchildren are so lucky to have you. I wanted a grandmother so very much growing up, but mine was in France and might as well have been on the Moon, as they say. I made friends with the very old lady across the street who taught me how to spell my full name and shared her secret cardinal nest that we could see a few feet from her window. She wasn't my grandmother, but I remember just sitting with her quietly for long visits and enjoying our times together. I have coral bells in my garden because of her. Comfort plants.
Your presence in your grandchildren's lives will ground them and help see them through some rough spots they are sure to have. Grannie love is unique.
Also, I think Gregory is a great name. It's familiar and easy but not over-used. It has a friendly ring to it.

Oh I adore these posts! Y'all are wonderful. Karen, thank you for my mountain for little Gregory. Lana, I love that you had 7 cheer people and then a welcome! That was clever.
And Claire, what a homage to your "grandmother". It's interesting how the same piece of information from a grandmother's mouth can be accepted so much quicker than Mom or Dad. Sometimes little Mr. E will say "Really?" but then do what was asked. I had a lady who took care of us whenever my parents went to a convention or something and she was my Grandma. She made the most incredibly delicious crepes - a German lady who I adored. I sat in her rocking chair with her while she knitted and just rocked. Actually I also had no grandmothers as my Dad's was not willing to be one and my mom's had passed away years before. My mom pretty much helped raise her 10 siblings in Indiana. Life is different now, but yet the same, yes?
I do like the name Gregory a lot. It will be fun to meet him Friday evening.
hugs,
carolyn

Hi Carolyn...I know you are very excited about meeting your new grandson this Friday. What a treasure, a baby boy! Congratulations my friend.
Love the picture of Bleu and your grand dog. I miss all my dog friends back in CA.
Hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer. I know the heat and rains have made it unbearable across the country this year.

Anybody know what's up with the White Rock nest? The Juvie looks odd. I cannot get a pic of the wide angle nest view. Lana
I came for the Eagles and stayed for the FRIENDS,

Lana Hi! and Hi ELFs.......
It's very windy there it seems and what you are seeing is Foxy with windblown feathers trying to stay hunkered down.
Did you know about the third juvie there? Read back on the discussion thread for some interesting stuff. Dad fed the third juvie too. David left a note with thoughts as to why (a possible relative).
We had a great visit meeting the new baby in Dallas - trip up was not great but back was wonderful. I even got homemade peach ice cream at Cooper Farms Store (famous in Texas for their peaches). Wow, was that gooe.
The baby is very sweet and reminds me of my son big time - long fingers. The girls were a bundle of energy and happy to see us. It was very hot in Dallas, over 100, and it is not as hot here (unreal, huh?). Today was in 80's in morning and cloudy so not bad at all.
It was a fun trip all in all.
