Hi all, I've just moved over to this forum because I can't handle the horrible truth about the food chain! I watched the video Angry Crows, and I can't stop crying - didn't others see the tiny baby crow gasping it's last breaths under the eaglet? I stoped watching there. The crows are angry because their baby has been taken to be killed, eaten alive. I'm sorry to be so gloomy but I just cant stand this anymore! What else would one expect the crows to do! It hurts me to hear others view the crows as intruders, harassers, etc. To me the crows exhibit far more bravery and courage than the eagles. The crows need to be braver because they don't have the might. I watch the video and the eagles don't look particulary upset - they know that if a swooping crow gets too close, it's just more dinner for them!

I apologize for this rant, but I seem to have reached my limit in what I can watch. I won't do this again so please don't fear I'll be always negative.. Maybe soon I'll post my lovely kitties, and other "nice" things.

Thank you for listening...

Hi Ophelia,

We look forward to seeing your kitties and hearing more from you.

You are always welcome to express views here. I know how hard it is to see this - many times I too turn away. It's sad also when crows take baby hummingbirds or eggs so it is what it is. We care which is why we are here and we can hope that will make a difference.

Thanks for joining us!

Ophelia- I hear you, very well. You, like many of us here, have a big heart for animals. Live streaming is bringing us another perspective of life that we have not seen before. And we watch, this is reality TV at its realest. All I can say to comfort you is that animals balance nature much better than humans, can you imagine having live cameras in slaughter houses? We receive everything nicely packaged in supermarkets, and everything looks so pleasing. And we have no problems picking out live lobsters at a fish restaurant and choose to miss the part where they are submerged in boiling water. Crazy? Yes, for sure. Ophelia, eagles kill to survive, no more and no less. It is part of the balance of nature that we humans already have destroyed.

HelloHello Carolyn! Hope all is well with you! Christian, loved your close ups of the nest........what cuties those 2 munchkins are! About the crows...........well, what does one say? Ophelia, I too do not enjoy watching and I won't. I would be turning my computer off for a bit because I don't like to see that sort of thing either. But I also know that this a part of life which is normal for them and it is not for me to be critical of it. After my experience with crows attacking a robin's nest in my backyard, I have never cared for crows although some people love them.......including my sister! I know that this is how they have to live. But we have a choice to watch or not.......I won't. But, I still love watching the eagles and have learned how to "look away" when necessary. That is how I cope with that issue. Welcome to this forum. Welcome

Christian......just read your post.........Well said!!

Thank you Jean for the welcome and the advice to "turn away". I have. And you too Christian, I've looked through some of the older pages and see some fabulous photography, and lovely "family" pics. I've named this forum in my favourites as "nice eagle forum", I look forward to the pleasant, friendly exchanges!
