Hello People! I hope all of you are well. I've been checking in here but have not had time to post until tonight.
I wanted to share some photos of the shadows of leafy slender trees as they appeared during yesterday's eclipse.
Many people traveled a few hours North of here or East to Nevada to see the entire "ring of fire", our daughter being one of them.
She had benefit of the special glasses so her eye was on the sky. She said it was spectacular. We had no glasses but my husband Michael and my mother and I were entranced by the beautiful crescent shadows that danced against our wall. They were so beautiful and elegant. How 'bout a wallpaper like that~ that moves! Smile

The third photo: My mother in a shadow world gets back her thick hair.

Good Morning ELFs.....

Claire, a huge and tremendous Thank You! I was hoping to see some aspect of the eclipse. Here we did not "see" anything - too far East.

That looks like willowy fabric on a painting. Really cool!

My DEAR FRIENDS and Claire who justrt posted great eclipse reflections, well done!!!

Warmest greetings from St. George, Utah, I am on buisness trip and have had little time to pop in, however, I did see the total annular eclipse here! AMAZING, imagine being in Zion National Park and having red red canyons around...and I did take some somewhat light equipment along to document this...

Towards the end of the eclipse there was an amazing scene as the moon covered the sun (upper left) which in turn set behind the mountain with trees

Finally a test image form my garden before the eclipse and it is surprising how well you can see the sun spots, with good resolution (I compared to satellite images).

I am back on the weekend and will do more WR nest then.

Take care wave

Christian......what a treat! And in a collage - how fantastic!
That, along with Claire's shadows, brings it alive.

We did not have much here, but through the trees the coloration of the Sun was off and I watched mesmerized by that aspect of it. Then the yellow glow was settling differently.

Have a Happy Wednesday friends - cool stuff!

Were your shots a reflection of the moon, Clair?
Beautiful patterns! Lana

Hi All,
Christian, I'm quite envious. Zion during a Ring of Fire eclipse! Talk about nature appreciation.
Lana, all those shapes you see are of the sun with the moon having moved in front of it (from our vantage point) so what we see are a series of crescents of the sun. These shapes of the sun cause that shape of shadow. Remember the pinhole in the box to see the progress of an eclipse? Same deal.
The shadows we were watching were very graceful and light since the trees that the sunlight was coming through are lacy with small leaves. Other photos I saw where the shade was deeper showed a very dark background with bright crescents. Not as artsy as ours, but quite startling.
Carolyn, I'm glad you liked the photos. Any more poems for us?
Karen, I sympathize with your efforts with your aunt. It's difficult to find that balance between proper care and maintaining respect for your aunt. Tricky.
I take care of my mother a lot. I'm lucky to be able to do it but it doesn't make it easy, at times.
Claire
