Good Morning!

Since it is so quiet here and in spite of the fact that I do not wish to plaster my poetry too many places around and about.....here is a poem I wrote for another thread based upon a conversation about blackbirds. You see there was a blackbird on one of the nests (not in a good situation) which lead to the song "Blackbird Fly"......which lead to the song "High Hopes" which lead to 4 and 20 blackbirds baked in a pie.....which lead to this zaniness on my part. I know, I know....total nonsense!

Blackbird writes on the blackboard, words not so clear,
written with black chalk on a blackboard, by a blackbird so dreary;
A story of Black Beard who stole the blackbird's mate from his nest,
to put with his blackbird whom he loved before all the rest.

Now Black Beard is a pirate and a pirate so black,
that you seldom thought of him in the day bright and shiny,
rather refined it to black dark night pitch black as black can be,
and that is only known to you and me.

If you have any thoughts as to where little blackbird's mate could be,
blackbird has requested in the black of night that you tell him and me,
so we can get together and write on the blackboard the words necessary,
to retrieve his mate from the Black Beard before dawning so near.

In the awakening dawn, a beacon appeared,
a beacon of hope, and blackbird's mate reappeared.
She had left the dark night finding her way home,
all are at rest and the sun shines on.

Ahhhhhhhh - LOVE it.

I'm in and out - read the posts but haven't the time to post. We are in the process of finding appropriate placement for my aunt since we have power of attorney. Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the hospital talking with the staff, family conference, my aunt who is understandably upset as we are. There is a lot more but won't go into it here.
