Well, I'll admit. I am just thrilled that the parents came back to the nest to their baby, Harmon. It had been about 24 hrs, and we with the live cam had seen no sign.
In fact I thought it better to turn off the computer and leave it for a few hours. Suddenly I turned it back on in time to see the dad fly to the nest. He cautiously checked things out, then checked out the baby, then just started feeding him. Then mom flies in and grabs the food and gives him a bunch of little bites.
This is extraordinary. They were all so clearly excited to be reunited.
It was amazing knowing so many people were watching, sharing this moment of joy.
After a concerted effort to feed the young'un the parent starts refitting the nest, digging and airing to dry and clearly making it their own again.
I am so happy because I know the horrendous, scary shaking a bulldozer makes when moving close by. And bringing one right under the tree to drag the cherry picker out of the mud must have been intensely disruptive to the parents who watched it all.
I tried to distance myself emotionally lest it turn out to be disappointing, but I feel realllllly good. lol
And so does my husband, my mother and my sister in Illinois. I think I'll sleep better tonight.
Claire :]

Good Morning ELFs.....
Claire, I was engrossed in Minn Bound ever since you alerted me and could not drag myself away yesterday. I also saw by chance Dad popping into the nest and then Mom and the ensuing joyous reunion. Yes, I can imagine them leaving due to a large noise and someone coming into their nest (twice). We were minutes away from them rescuing Harmon again due to worry of predators, however, as things go......Dad flew in and stopped the plan and joy ensued. Everyone is thrilled.
Sara I am glad you were watching it too.
Annie, your efforts on the moon are fantastic! I am speechless by what you did - gorgeous.
I got to git....way behind this morning - spent too much time catching up on Harmon! happily.

G'Evening ELFS, (would love some of this now that it is sooooo hot).
I love the new icons!
I'm sorry to hear your cold is worse Karen. All you can do is rest and drink lots
of liquids I guess.
Your collage is so pretty with flowers and woohoo a lighthouse & a bonus of a sail boat..love
it! Thank you re. the moon collage. I don't know what time your sunset is but maybe get
hubby to plan on it one evening?
I'm thinking of your Aunt and continue with her in my prayers.
Carolyn, Thank you very much; your comments are very sweet about my super moon
collage. The camera wasn't very cooperative with the settings it was on and at one point it
told me to raise the flash...so I did and believe it or not the photos were somewhat better after
that. Anyway, I had to crop the photos to get the mountains lined up the same and adjust
the contrast. The moon isn't very clear but I caught the essence of the moment. It was
an awesome sight when it first appeared (which I didn't catch).
Well, my friends we are going out of town in the morning for a few days of r & r. I will be back
with you on Sunday.
Till then.... Karen, Carolyn, Jo, Lana, Carole, Jean, Gabi, SARA, Claire, Gillian,
Arlene, Christian and my missing Jas.

Good Morning ELFs.....
Jean, I just have a moment but wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your pictures especially the Rhodo. We had those in NJ and I loved them. They need colder weather so it is a pleasure to see it. Also, the other one is quite pretty whatever it is. i enjoy seeing yellow flowers.
Have a great day ELFs!
