Good Afternoon......
On the beach at Galveston, Texas, the wind breezes were soaring at 35 mph, blowing all over. It was an incredible day with some interesting twists. That is for another moment to tell.
It was a sad moment to learn of Richard' passing. He had a good common sense approach that really worked. We were so blessed to have his presence for a time. Such folks are exceptional. Let's all try to make the same kind of difference in our own ways.
With love,
carolyn

Good Saturday Afternoon ELFS!
It's been a sad day here at HWF with Richard's passing. He had such a genorosity of spirit
and was always kind to me on the occasions I interacted with him. He and his skills have
left us a little poorer. Rest in Peace dear Richard!
If you haven't read David's latest post, it is here: http://www.hancockwildlife.org/
I've been a little under the weather today...feeling a bit better at the moment.
Such gorgeous flowers Karen and I love the collage of the Olympics. I should
have known that was a Rhododendrun.
I read about starfish, or as they now want to call them, Sea Stars, and was amazed at how
large they can get. Also, when they get large, their gender changes to female!
Lovely, lovely tribute to Richard.
I sure hope you can replace your camera soon Lana so we can see the eagles
you are seeing!
Jo, Miss Winston, the little stinker, is such fun to see.
Thank you GF; I really missed you and everyone too!
Carolyn, As I wrote you, I am very happy Miss L.'s surgery went well and she
is home getting the princess treatment. I bet her brother is happy she's home.
Beautiful eagle portrait Christian. Your pictures are without peer.
I'm documenting at WR so if I'm not back later......Have a Wonderful Evening.

Thank you Annie.....I am glad Miss L is doing better too.
On way back from evening walk with Miss Bleu, went to pick up a stick in front yard - jumped about 10 feet, went in and got hubby......he bundled up copperhead (large) into basket and took to live outs its life happily somewhere else.
What I did not say earlier was that it is April 14 and there were tons of folks swimming, bogey boarding etc. including little children, in the Gulf with very heavy surf and wind. It battered you if you tried to walk with sand blowing all over. This was probably one of the roughest days I have seen and definitely the roughest in Texas.
We saw a lot of water birds on the Bay at the State Park while walking in over paths. We also encountered lots of blackberries which were at the best state of ripened. Yum! Interesting day.......
We had lunch on the porch of a restaurant in the gale force wind with Miss Bleu nestled at our feet with a bowl of water they wanted to give her. Such a sweetheart.
I am glad Richard is at peace. You got to know his spirit is soaring.
hugs,
carolyn

Hello everyone! I've just been looking back at all your recent posts and enjoying the wonderful pictures. Christian, the detail on your eagle is fabulous.....love all your photos! Joanne, what an adorable rabbit. He must bring lots of sunshine into your life. I am truly enjoying all the photos of nature beginning to show its best..........beautiful blooms, and awesome animals! I was very saddened to hear of Richard's passing today. I can tell how much he was loved and how much people treasured him. Having had my own share of this kind of sorrow I am afraid I very much feel other people's pain when it happens to them too, so my sincere thoughts go out to his friends and family.
On a lighter note...........my hubbie and I went out this evening for a quick coffee with some friends. It was getting dark when we came home and on our way driving home he spotted an eagle down on the ground in a farmer's field. I have never seen an eagle out this late at night.......dusk and getting dark quickly. So we pulled over in the car and watched him devour a meal on the ground. What a great experience to end the day with. Eventually he rose up and flew off but it was so great to see him up close!
Keep up the great photos everyone. Unfortunately I only get here once in a while but do try to read the posts. Thanks!

Good morning ELFs
Olympics an hour ago

Today is our 49th wedding anniversary - we will celebrate by attending a wonderful evnsong and I will make my grandson's wedding cake today - fitting don't you think?
We went to the opera last night - Donizetti's Maria Stuarda - interesting production but dragged for the first half.
I have read all the tributes to Richard and they are truly touching!
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!
