Good Afternoon ELFs.....
This is major fun! I love the Snowy Owl, Christian, especially when flying as instead of being so sweet and cuddly you suddenly realize "whoops that is an owl flying at me".
Karen, I suspect Venus, but you would have to tell us from Christian's map where you focused? It is beautiful. Your Great Horned Owl (or really your neighbor's) is formidable.
Algebra I sailed through too Karen - it is very linguistic and I am not surprised Christian that you loved Geometry. It became easier for me in time.
I too speak a few more languages such as Spanish to an extent. I studied it a while for the heck of it and can understand and converse. That comes in real handy in Texas and the only issue is sometimes I get a mental block and start thinking in Japanese which cuts out Spanish. Also through my singing background (as well as playing instruments - piano, auto-harp, String Bass, Accordion) learned a lot of Italian, Latin and other fun languages. And my kids took Russian because they did not want to study a language I knew......so I learned it a bit along with them. My son uses his Russian and now Slavonic at his church - amazing how things turn out!
Today is Miss Bleu's 5th birthday! We had a special nursing home visit to commemorate that. And the requisite wonderful things happened on said visit. I still love it how when we go in the corridor erupts in "There's Bleu!" (Nope, they do not care what it is or know my name and that is a hoot). I had an interesting thing happen. I was at the front desk and the nurse there was talking about a therapy dog that was wonderful and after about 10 minutes I realized she was talking about us - but she had it in the third person so I did not know. I walked out with a grin on my face and Bleu had a mighty jaunty step.
Catch you later friends......

Good Afternoon ELFs
Just enjoying a Skinny Latte from Tassimo. Yum.....I could really get addicted to those...especially in the afternoon.
I have to go a long way back so this may be a book to rival War & Peace!!
Carolyn yes apparently they can scan your visas through a handbag or back pack. Those cards have the symbol that looks like air waves(?) So that you can just pass the card over a scanner and wammo you have paid for whatever!! Bad guys with said scanner just have to pass it near your card to get your details.
Thankfully mine just has the chip and requires me to struggle to remember pin #s. Not a bad thing.
But I guess if the card is enclosed in foil they can't scan it. For now til they come up with a bypass for that!!
Those photos that your hubby took are truly wonderful. It looks like the cormorants all lined up specially for a photo op.
Christian a wonderful photo of your Jesse. And what a close resemblance in pose to a certain Bleu leaping and catching.
Oh I have so enjoyed your photos of the eagles and the night sky. Lovin' the blue moon. We headed out on a frigid Manitoba night to look at the moon and Venus and Jupiter. It is truly awe inspiring and we are such a speck of dust in the grand scheme of things!
Awesome closeup of the Sandhill Crane. Looking him right in the eye.
That is a super pic of you and your son too. That camera looks just perfect for the gorgeous photos you do. And I am drooling over your telescope...how magic is that to use it from so far away and have a coffee too!!
Absolutely beautiful photos of the galaxies. Fascinating about that Quasar. I remember seeing documentaries on that on TV. I am glued to the TV for anything like that!
Spectacular photos of the snowy owl. We have lots around here....when some idiot isn't trying to shoot them.
Annie what a great capture in your photo of the starling to have a dove show up. One of my favourite birds....Heck I guess all birds are my favourites!!
Joanne your Miss Winston looks so content for you to cut her toenails although not liking it.
Carole your King Kokomo looks very regal surveying his domain. He does have beautiful colouring.
Annie I chuckled at your tale of getting rid of stuff not needed. We have been doing that once a year for 10 years now and STILL there is stuff!!!! Even with my sister visiting and working through antiques and keepsakes of our parents, there is still one or two more times to go to have it done with. Some of it is going to the museum this time. At least we can now shred old papers and income tax stuff.
Gabi how are things in your lovely village??? That starling is enjoying a nice lunch. Is that a bird feeder that your friend has out for them?
Karen what a beautiful photo of the sail boat on the straits. Love that eagle too and it looks like that nest is right close above you!! It is fantastic to have such a gorgeous horned owl living right next door. He will certainly look after any creepy things in the yard.
And I know I missed commenting on a lot of stuff and sorry about that.

Karen, wonderful photos (to echo Arlene)! I feel like I was just transported up to Victoria to visit you without any cost, time, or effort. Thank you!
Arlene and Karen, Bleu says thank you for those birthday wishes. She had a super long walk this morning in celebration (actually she has a long walk every day, but she does not know the difference so what the heck?)
That is true Arlene, that Jesse and Bleu seem to be leaping equally, except for different reasons. Either way leaping is great fun as evidenced by the dogs. I guess that is kind of like "going to the dogs".
see you later,
carolyn
Bibbo is watching the screen as I type. What a funny kitty she is.
