Happy Thursday Everyone!

So far this day has been really hectic! It's hot. When I went out early this morning, the potted plants were
already looking stressed and the birds were having a splash in the water. I hate seeing them with their little mouths open to cool themselves. We are going to have triple digits for the next six days and probably beyond. I can't complain too much at that because Carolyn and other friends in Texas have had 27 straight days of triple digits.

I've seen some great posts from y'all this morning and will be back a little later this afternoon to respond.

Thank You Mo for the day start and you too jas.

Hello WR Friends.....have not been on for a day or so...been appreciating all the scaps of our eagle family....I check on the nest at night..usually at near dark and see who I think may be Delta. My heart is hurting a little seeing her there alone, but glad to see that parents come home to feed in the am. So many nests are now becoming empty Cry Watched Norfolk release yesterday morning...many tears of joy!!! Will Mom and Dad return in October after the salmon runs??? Oh what will we do without these wonderful creatures to watch?? So glad we have the chat now. so good to be able to be in touch with others who share my "insane" passion. I am off to work now, be back tonight Red Heart Dianne

I hope you had a good day at work Dianne!!! I know what you mean....we will all be anxiously awaiting to see what will happen in October!!

I am sitting at my art table painting with the eagle cams on beside me and Galaxie music channel tuned to the Nature channel. The last selection had eagle calls on it....I immediately turned to the cameras but alas.....no one there............... I was fooled but that's how tuned in my ears areTitter

I wasn't looking at all when a parent very quietly flew in!!!! Missed it until he she was getting ready to fly out!!!

[QUOTEFavorite Sport to play....................................................surfing in CA where I grew up,
retired surfer at Long Beach Vancouver Island- now I only go out on the boogie board- being 57 ! And I like to sail a laser in the bay by the nest.
( I live close to Bell park SSurrey)

Hi Duckie, I last surfed earlier this month in CA...surf was up, water warm, but windy and my swimming-sort-of-gets-arms-in-paddling-shape arms were noodles but did catch the one of the best waves I have had in my life!!! Uh-oh here comes the story... My mindset at the time was as much a part of my "great wave" as the good SW swell...I was the most angry I have ever been while surfing. Maybe you'll be the first person to really understand this...

In spite of being at a family beach where all surfers are low key and NOT territorial, for the first time in my life, this 20-30 something guy PUSHED ME off my board! Technically it was his wave as he had stood up a bit sooner than I. When you're a bit rusty sometimes you're not sure if you'll catch the wave or not but I did catch this one, and was going to back out, seeing this guy coming on my left, but before I could, he PUSHED ME off my board. I still can't get over it. Afterwards I approached him, and said "Hey, Little Man, I hope your proud of yourself for pushing a 52 yr old woman off her board. Good for you, Little Man. I only get to surf once/twice a year and I come to this beach because people SHARE waves all the time. And if we find our selves on another wave together DON'T YOU DARE PUT YOUR HANDS ON ME AGAIN!!!!!!!". I was sssoooooooo upset. The next wave I caught I rode very agressively and very well. Happy about the ride, still miffed at Little Man (can you tell?).

Thanks chat room for a place to vent.
P.S. Let me know if you ever want company in your Laser!Nodding (I'm on the hillside above the WR pier.)
P.P.S. or P.S.S. (?) Any interest in a WR nest beachwalk?

Woodlands Bleu

Just saw your comment about no birth year given due to safety precautions on the internet. I never thought of that, thanks for the heads up. Do others also feel that complete birthdate could potentially be a sfaty issue? Looking for feedback / education before deciding to try and delete year or not.

Thank you!

It could be a safety issue listing complete birth date. I added the year as this is a forum that I thought was o.k. But typically I don't add too much out there. I did post a photo of me and my husband....but it's already on Facebook.
I may go back and delete my birth year too!!!!

Good for you....I just read your recount of surfing. Boy some people think they can get away with such disrespect!!!
Vent away!!!!
