Thank you for saving me this space planetocean but I think only you can edit. So, I am in "quote" and will see where it places in the forum. Hope it is OK.

I may not have been with you all but I was part of the group in spirit.

I wish Oreo a very long, healthy life. Soar high Oreo and make all your aunties proud. Live strong and free.

Here is picture of auntie Raining and Ceilidh. We will watch the skies always looking for you.

The pictures are wonderful! So good to see you Raining - your dog is precious. I am delighted to see faces to go with the names of those who love this nest.

David Hancock has suggested that I supply some background information to supplement the July 22 article in The Province.

The eaglet was not neglected at all by his parents. They are very good providers as we saw on our web cams at www.hancockwildlife.org

The eaglet was the first chick hatched from all our local camera nests this year, coming into the world on April 11. The earliest known hatchings in the lower mainland have been April 1 and they continue through May. So "Oreo" was not a late hatching at all.

Oreo weighed less than 7 lbs. at 10 weeks of age but that does not mean he was neglected. Male eagles weigh between 5 - 8 lbs. and the females range from 9 - 12 lbs.

We work in conjunction with O.W.L. as we need each other. They rehab our camera eagles but they would never have known that these eagles even needed help if our viewers had not noticed Oreo fall from the nest, at which time they called me. I immediately contacted the resident, where the eagle nest tree is in his yard. He confirmed that Oreo was sitting at the bottom of the tree. Then I called O.W.L. to go get Oreo and take him into their fine facility. The rest is history.

Good work, Karen. Hopefully, there will be a reprint and this time with accuracy.

Thanks Skylan and Woodlands Bleu. I must confess that I did not have a picture of me alone taken this year. That picture was last summer. Ceilidh is no longer with us since last November (8 months) but she will always live on in our hearts. She was 14 when she passed. I wanted everyone to see the love of my life though and was too busy to take a picture today but wanted to be part of the group of aunties Titter

Good work Karen! I have only been watching the Delta 2 nest for a short time and was not following this nest when Oreo fell. I know though, that he was not neglected by his parents and he was not late hatching.

Hoping there will be a correction.

On the bright side, some great pictures appeared in the paper along with the article!Smile
